Beep. Beep. Beep.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Beep. Bee-
I hit the alarm clock repeatedly until it stopps beeping. Forcing myself to get out of bed and shower. I drag my feet to my new bathroom.
Last night, my mom and I unpacked almost everything. We stayed up until one in the morning unpacking, and fighting to stay awake.
As you may know, it is a Sunday and I woke up to an alarm clock. Well, I'm saving up for a new truck because my current truck is, let's just say, dysfunctional. Therefore, I'm going to apply for a job in the coffee shop in town.
I take a fifteen minute shower enjoying the warm water, then go to get dressed.
I stand in front of the mirror, trying to decide what to do with my wet hair. I'll just choose my outfit first. Two minutes later I had chosen and put on my clothes. My outfit consisted of a maroon, baggy T-shirt, light-washed skinny jeans, and a pair of maroon vans. I think straight hair will be okay.
After completely drying and straightening my thick, blonde hair, I put on some mascara and a nude lipstick. That should do it.
I check the time, 8:56 a.m. I had to be there at 9:30. I grab my phone, twenty dollars, and a light jacket since it was the end of February.
I walk down the stairs, grab my keys off the kitchen counter, and head out the door.
I arrive at Mrs. Lue's Café, the name of the coffee shop, at 9:10. Twenty minutes early. I might as well wait. I sat at the table for two and got on wattpad, reading a new book.
Suddenly, a voice came from my right, "Ma'am, would you like something to eat or drink?"
"Actually," I say looking at the menu on the table, "may I have a crescent roll and a chocolate mocha, hot, please."
"Yes ma'am, my name is Joanna Lorrett, by the way."
"Juliet Hamilton, but call me Julie."
"Of course, I'll be back with your order." She says, walking away.
Joanna is around my age, with light brown hair, green eyes, and a big smile. She seems to be happy all the time, from what I can tell.
"So, what brings you to Mrs. Lue's?" Joanna says sitting down across from me after delivering my order.
"I'm here for an interview at 9:30."
"Why didn't you say so? After you finish your breakfast, come get me, and I'll show you to Mrs. Lue's office."
I simply nod, then eat my crescent roll and drink my coffee in about eight minutes. After that eight minutes, I wave Joanna over.
"Could I have my bill, please." She pulls out a little notebook and hands it to me. My total is seven dollars and fifty-two cents. I slip my twenty dollar bill into one of the little pockets and hand it back to her. She quickly returns with my change, then motions for me to follow her.
As I collect my belongings, I take a look around the café. It is a fairly busy for a little town. I notice that there were only two waitresses working. Can that one waitress handle everyone who needs assistance, while Joanna shows me to Mrs. Lue's office? I sure hope so.
My feet shuffle on the floor behind Joanna's. I'm getting a little nervous. What if I don't get the job? What if my truck breaks down completely before I can afford another? What if I do get the job? Will the customers be mean to the new girl in town? Most of the customers looked like high school students, beside a few middle-aged men and women.
