Song: Harder to Breathe by Maroon 5

~Saige's POV~

After I watched Xander walk off, I turned back to my friends who were staring at me, "What?" I asked them.

But before either of them could respond, the Princess of the school grabbed my shoulder and squeezed a little too tight as she leaned near my ear, "Stay away from him you little bitch," she said harshly in a low, soft yet vicious tone, "I was here way before you and I won't stand some mortal getting in my way," she finished before shoving me forward into the table and walking off.

I sat there in silence for a moment while my friends tried to get me to respond to their questions of concern. I could feel a bubble or rage build up inside of me.

I stood up from the table while placing my hands down, out in front of me a little too hard. I looked at my friends, "I'm going home, I'll see you tomorrow," I told them and turned around to leave.

I had to bite my tounge to keep from being too vulgar to the apparent whore of the school even though I saw her acting like a child out of my peripheral vision.

I stopped by the office and aggressively signed myself out before exiting the school. I walked down the street when the sky opened up and started to pour. "Just great," I muttered and dashed to a covered alleyway. As my feet hit the ground, small specks of water soaked my socks.

When I was safe from the drizzle, I felt that uncomfortable presence from this morning. I looked around somewhat frantically as goosebumps rose onto my arms. The alleyway had originally looked ok for shelter, but I soon realized different.

I was about to dash back into the rain when I felt a harsh tug on my shoulder. The alleyway was dark, so I wasn't able to make out who had just grabbed me from behind.

My booksack fell off in the process as my back was slammed against the brick wall that resided in the alleyway. A cry of pain came from my lips at my rough impact with the wall. I could feel a the spot on my back where a bruise could begin to form.

The man who was trying to assault me said, "Shhh," as he bent his head down to the side of my neck. I tried to scream as his lips made their way to my neck, but he quickly covered my mouth to drown out the sound that came from my vocal cords.

I knew my life was in danger because this man had that aura of lethality all around him. I helplessly screamed as I felt a sharp, rough pain in my neck.

A warm, sticky liquid began slipping down my neck as I could feel myself growing weak. My knees began to quiver. My rational brain betrayed me at the loss of blood, and my consiousness tried to run.

I contiued to struggle with my attacker even if I knew it was futile. That's what you do isn't it? When you feel that you're about to die, you struggle to live.

I fell to the ground with a thud as I felt the presence of the man suddenly torn away from me. As I lay on the ground, I heard what sounded like a brawl. I struggled to get up, to get away, but my struggles were again, futile.

With one last try to get up and escape, my consiousness finally escaped me as darkness began to consume.
