"Lucy!" The familiar voice called my name. I turned and saw Perrie running down the hall way to me.
"Choir time!" She said sticking her arm through mine and dragging me beside her. We entered the large room to find it fairly empty. Just a few people scattered in they're seats.
"I'm gonna go talk to mr. Rockaferd." I said to Perrie. I stepped off the riser next to her seat and paced quickly to the offic. I knocked on the open door.
"Hi, I'm Lucy." I smiled handing him my schedule. I looke it over quickly and nodded.
"How long have you been in choir?"
"Since kindergarten. Oh, I mean since I've been in school. Since I was six, to be exact."
"That's great. What part do you sing?"
"Well, I've been a soprano two for the past two years because I'm able to find the in between really easily and I'll sing it out, but, I think my voice sounds better in first and I prefer it also."
"Alright, well, you're in luck. I need more firsts." He smiled.
"Really?" I knew I was grinning ear to ear. He nodded and chuckled slightly. I composed myself and thanked him for my position. I trotted over to Perrie.
"What's that for?" She grinned referring to my excitement.
"Oh, nothing too important, ya know, just that I'm going to be sitting right next to you!"
"You got first! Yes!"
"So you're a dog whistle." My excitement quickly faded into annoyance. I turned to find harry with his chin resting on both elbow over the railing.
"Dog whistles drive dogs crazy right?" I asked sticking my fingers through the rails to grab the belt loops on ether side of his belt buckle. He stiffened. I looked up at him, his grin gone. Eyes wide as he gulped. I was very aware of how full the room had gotten. And how every single pair of eyes were watching us.
"Y-yeah." He stuttered.
"Well then I guess I am." I pulled his keys from his front pocket and tossed them into the trash can.
"Fetch." I said pushing off of the railing smirking at him. His expression twisted from confusion to aggrevasion before he marched over to retrive his keys. The whole room laughed in approval.
"Um, can I be you?" I turned to see the girl from the locker room earlier, Rae.
"Hah, being me isn't that great. Trust me." The truth. "Have you said hi to Luke yet?" I moved my eyebrows up and down. He blushed and shook her head.
"Why not! Oop! He's walking in!" I grinned and pointed behind her.
"Stop it!" She swatted at me.
"Alright class, hurry hurry. We have much to discuss today." Mr. Rockaferd announced. Everyone made it to their seats rather quickly, Rae moving to the alto section.
"Alright, so... Today is going to be a very difficult day. Most of you will not be able to handle this..." Choir is difficult yeah, but it's not that difficult?
"I have nothing planned! Free day! Go be hooligans." What?
The class cheered and I saw multiple people leaving. I turned to Perrie.
"Uh... Does this happen often?"
"We had a concert last week, he usually gives us a free day here and there after we have one. Come on!" She said pulling me up from my chair. We quickly made it out of the classroom into the hallway and walked toward one of the doors that led to the court yard.
"So... This weekend, in honor of your first week here, we should go to London and go shopping!" She grinned.
"I've never been to London. Lets do it!"
"Hey guys." The boy came up beside me smiling.
"Hey Ashton, what's up?" Perrie asked.
"Calum's uncles house is free this weekend, were throwing a party on Friday night. Can I count on your appearance?" He smiled.
"Yeah, of course!"
"Alright, cool, see you there Lucy." He smirked backing away to invite another group of girls ahead of us.
"I thought we were shopping?"
"Don't be silly. That's what Saturdays are for!"
"You are such an enthusiastic person. How do you do it?"
"I'm only enthusiastic about fun stuff. And I find a lot of stuff fun actually." She giggled.
"Where are we going?" I asked as we walked past the court yard.
"The pond, it's at the back of the campus. It's really pretty in the fall. I go to study most of the time, but it's nice to just sit there too. It's really relaxing."
"This place is so pretty. It's weird." I stated.
"It was named the most elegant boarding school in the country. I think it's number three in the global aspect." She smiled.
"Where's zayn?" I asked.
"Hah, were not the kind of couple that spends every waking moment together. We enjoy eachothers company but we still like our friend time." She said sitting down against a tree. It was like something from a cheesy romantic movie.
"So... What's with you and harry?" I couldn't help myself from cackling. I turned to see the completely serious look on her face.
"Hah, sorry I thought you were kidding. Um... There is nothing going on between me and harry." I giggled sitting next to her.
"Really? Are you sure? Because I've seen the way he looks at you. And you tease him, and he's not used to that, and it frustrates the hell out of him."
"Um... The way he looks at me? He's not used to it? And it frustrates him? What does that mean?"
"I've never seen a girl catch his eye like you have. I catch him staring at you sometimes. And he can say hi to a girl and they'll melt. So he's never had this much trouble getting a girl. And it frustrates him because it makes him want you more." She sounded almost concerned. Say hi to a girl, and they melt? Fuck that. That shit makes my blood boil. Ever since... No. I refuse to let those memories back in.
"He can want me all he wants. He's not getting shit. No one is." I stood up then.
"I'm sorry for snapping at you. I need some time to think I'm going back to the dorm. Thanks for showing me this place, it's really pretty." I said just before turning and making my way back to the dorm. Girls melt for him? No wonder the fucker is so smug. Ugh, just thinking about the way he was around me when I first got here makes my skin crawl. People like Harry are the reason I'm in this situation to begin with.
I was so absorbed in my rant in my head that I barely realized I was in front of building my room was in. The fact that I didn't realize that, made me more pissed off. I'm never not aware of my surroundings. My mind was racing. So many things in my head. Trying to think straight, made my thinking even less clear.
I shoved the key into the lock and roughly opened the door. I took a few steps into the room and became suddenly aware. I continued my steps to my bed. I slipped my bag from my shoulder. I carefully unzipped it, and stuck my hand in. Gripping what I needed, I learned that my instincts were correct.
"Aspen." She whispered.
