Chapter 5: Birthday Blast

In the end, Marinette didn't get a chance to give Adrien her gift. She asked Alya if she could tag along when she visits Adrien's mansion after class. Being the good friend she is, Alya agreed. BUT, she still forgot putting her name. This day is just isn't for her.

Manilou also haven't greeted him YET. After all, she doesn't know it was his birthday until a certain bluenette told her this morning. What could she possibly give when she isn't sick rich like Chloe's?

Classes went on with bunches of activities, quizzes, etc. Manilou keep on asking Jazer what would be a good gift to a guy and stuffs like that.

"Hey Jaze~ listen to meeeeeeee~" she whined in a low tone because the person she'll be giving the gift to is just on her left.

"Shhhhhh...Ms. Mendeleiev is discussing something about Gas laws."

"I wanna listen to it as well for I love Science and you know that. But the gift really is bugging me for a while now. It wouldn't hurt to give me suggestions, y'ah know." She huffed.

"Ok, then how about...a ring or an anklet?" he then jotted down notes.

Manilou eyed Adrien, careful not to be noticed. She saw him wearing a silver ring so the ring is an X. An anklet seems to be old-fashioned, well at least for her. Her eyes darted to all corners of the room, trying to find any ideas or inspiration. The teacher took notice of her restlessness.

"Ms. Achille, would you mind telling us the answer at the problem on the board?"

Jazer looked at her worriedly since he knew that she clearly didn't understand any of it because she wasn't listening at all. He quickly tried to solve the problem on a piece of paper and then when he got the final answer, he whispered. "It's 0.860 atm."

"Uhm..." she faked scribbling on her notebook, letting the teacher think she's calculating. She stood up. "The answer would be...0.860 atm, miss."

"Good."

She proceeded in sitting and when she looked down; she saw her bag with a dangling keychain. It was her Aquarius keychain from the anime Fairy Tail. Idea popped into her mind.

She breathed in a sigh of relief. "Thanks for the help, Jaze."

"No problem."

She shook her head. "It's more than that just one Science problem..."

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Don't mind me~"

Time went by rather fast. It was only a matter of time...then tada! It's already dismissal time.

"Jaze, go home without me today ok? I still have something to do."

Jazer is a bit reluctant about it and even offered accompanying her. "I can wait..."

Manilou pinched the bridge of his nose. "Silly. I still have to get Adrien's present remember?"

"R-right. And, uh...you can let go of my nose now." He spoke nasally.

Reality struck her and pulled her hand away. She laughed awkwardly and scratched the back of her head. "I...uh...gotta go! Bye!" she dashed on the nearest bookstore to buy some ribbons and a tiny box.

Adrien has Chinese lessons today so their limousine would arrive within an hour or so. She has to wrap it as fast and as nicely as she can. She sacrificed her keychain since she doesn't have enough money to buy a new one but she'll save up in no time anyway. She put it inside the black box and tied it with a white and silver ribbon.

She scurried her way to the school again, almost tripping and all that misfortune. She arrived in one piece which is a good thing. She waited for Adrien to come out of the room. And when he did...

She tossed out the little box into his hands. "Happy birthday, dude."

He caught it perfectly. "Thanks..." he looked down, bangs covering his face. He hid the fact that he's blushing.

He got a gift from a girl he likes. How happy can he be? Besides, she's the first one to give him a present. Considering that Marinette haven't gave hers yet, Chloe being the liar she is haven't 'delivered' it and his dad, not preparing a gift for him so far.

"So, you have a party or something to celebrate your birthday?"

His happiness was instantly drained the moment she asked that. "No...dad will probably say I don't have to."

"I...I see...Must have been hard for you. Well that's ok, we're here for you. Oh, I have something to do at home! I'll go ahead of you! Bye!"

Adrien waved to the retreating back of the girl. His limo arrived soon after and drove him home. When he opened the door, he saw Nino talking to his dad. His best friend was negotiating to his father to let him celebrate for at least once in his whole life.

"...I decide what is good for my son. And now, I can tell that you are a bad influence for him. You may now leave and never set foot again in this household ever again."

"Dad! Nino is just concerned for me! He's my best buddy."

Nathalie blocked the boys' way. "Goodbye." She said in a firm tone.

Nino turned his heel to leave when Adrien rested his hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry. Nino. He's just...like that."

He brushed his friend's hand away. "He doesn't think about his son. So not cool dude!" and with that, he left and went to the park.

Nino sat on a bench under a shady tree and took out his bottle of bubbles from his pocket. Blowing bubbles, Nino spotted a kid whining about playing some more at the playground with his dad holding him back and telling him that they should go already.

"Tch. Adults telling us always what to do. Definitely not cool." He said with an angry look on his face.

Somewhere, a window opened and a dark persona released a butterfly infused with Akuma. The black butterfly found its way to the park and landed on Nino's bubble blower.

"Bubbler. I am Hawk Moth. I can help you get rid of the adults to free the children from them. In return, you just have to take the Miraculous of Ladybug and Cat Noir."

"Deal."

Nino changed his appearance into a clown-looking-party-pooper with a giant bubble rod in his back. He sky-rocketed using his bubbles and created huge bubbles enough for a person to fit in. All the adults were caught in it without exception. The Bubbler then announced by the bubbles that are dispersed throughout the city that everyone can just have some FUN, FUN, FUN.

Saddened by this turn of events and having her mom and dad taken away in front of her. Marinette called out to her kwami. "Tikki, transform me!"

On the other hand...

"MUSHU, FUCKING TRANSFORM ME!"
