Avi stood there in awe, he couldn't believe what Kirstie had just said. He slowly walked into school so he had time to think. Avi thought she was mad at him, so he faked being mad at her. As he walked in the school, Kirstie's friends, Scott and Mitch, came up to him.
"What was that about?" said Mitch in a worried tone.
"Nothing. It's between me and her." Avi walked out of the lunch room towards his locker.
--
When Avi got to his locker he immediately texted Kirstie.. She read the text and never responded. He texted her again

Kirstie I know you're mad at me,
but I did some really stupid
stuff. I hope you can forgive
me and we can still be friends

Again she read it, but this time she started to type. It took her almost two minutes. Then finally the text came in. Avi slowly read it.

Avi, I know you are sorry, and
I am to but I don't know how to
fix this.

Avi set his phone down and slowly slid down the locker till he was sitting down. He waited to respond because he didn't know what to say. But then he thought, I just need to ask her to come back. It will be easier to talk about in person. So he told her to come back, she said tomorrow. Avi became nervous, awaiting the next day to come.
--
He got home and went straight to his bedroom without saying a word to his parents. He sat on his bed thinking about what he was going to say to her. He didn't want to think to much, but that's exactly what he did. After he finished his homework, he ate dinner then fell asleep. When he woke up, he was scared of what could happen. He quick grabbed his phone to make sure he wasn't late. He wasn't, he was right on time. He quick got ready, ate breakfast, and got into his car and drove to school.
--
Once he got to school and put his things in his locker, he saw Scott and Mitch as he was walking to class to put his stuff down. "Hey, what's up?" said Avi.
"Nothing, just walking to class." Said Mitch in a joyful tone, as always. "Cool." Mimicked Avi, but somewhat secretively.
"Have either of you seen Kirstie this morning?" Avi asked in a worried voice. He was scared Kirstie didn't show up.
"Yeah, she's at her favourite place." said Scott.
"The library!" yelled Scott and Mitch, almost in unison. Avi began walking towards the library. He opened the door and then he saw her. The girl he was about to make everything right with again. He walked up to her and tried to talk but his mouth had gone dry. She noticed him and spoke up.
"Hey." She stated, in a somewhat sad tone.
"What's wrong?" Avi asked worriedly. Kirstie was hesitant, but finally told him the events from the night before. He was astonished, he couldn't believe she did that, but they were talking like they used to. He hugged her for what seemed like and eternity, but still not long enough. Then they began. The talk that was sure to fix everything.
--
At lunch, Avi found Kirstie again.
"Now that we are almost where we used to be, can we start talking more and sitting together at lunch maybe?" He asked hopefully.
"Please?" Kirstie asked quietly, tears about to pour.
"Good. Now come here.. what happened?" He asked, pulling her into a bear hug, concerned. She started to bawl, so he led her to the bathrooms.
"What's wrong Kirst? I can't help if you don't tell me."
"They s-saw them.." She whispered into his shirt.
"Your scars? Who saw them, angel?"
"S-Scott and M-Mitch. I tried so hard to keep them hidden." She sobbed.
"Hey, hey, hey. It's okay. I'm here now." Avi whispered, slightly rubbing her back. "I've got you." He said, quieter this time.
"Thank you." She cried, but softly.
