Strangers POV

It has been one night and I have been up all night trying to find this girl. Who is she? Her name is Maiden That's nothing to go off I will never find out who she is, not without the help of the internet.  I thought to myself as I sat at the small cafe table sipping my coffee. I pulled the locket from my pocket and read over the engraving for the twentieth time wondering how this was to help me. As I was sitting there it finally hit me. If I went to the library and searched her name up online maybe I would get a hit. I quickly finished my coffee payed for it and walked out into the chilled winter air. It was a five minute drive to library so before I left and got in my car I pulled the pack of cigarettes out of my pocket and lit one. After lighting it I walked to my car and drove to the library. Arriving there I parked and went inside. I logged online and quickly typed, Maiden, Los Angeles California. Sure enough a picture of her and information popped up. It had her address and other information about her. I didn't pay much attention to that, I only wrote down the address and then left.

While I was driving I turned my head and swore it was her, but when I looked harder I noticed there was no one there, it was just my imagination, Why am I so obsessed with this girl? I thought. I have only seen her once in my life and it was from across a bar, I didn't even say one word to her in my entire life, but all of a sudden she is my whole world and I want nothing more to do than make her my wife and make anything and everything better for her.  This is all I could think about the entire drive home.

As I got home I walked to my apartment and my neighbor came outside and notified me that we were getting a new neighbor, a young girl who needed a cheap place to stay. I payed very little attention to him as my mind raced and I reread the address in my head over and over again wondering how I would approach her without her thinking I was going to hurt her. After about an hour of sitting on my couch in the dark I finally knew what I had to do. I figured i would drive to her house and leave a note on the step telling her I needed something and to meet me somewhere in hopes she would get my message, but I wasn't going to do it until like three weeks later cause I was too nervous.

Going to bed the night before i dropped the letter off  I tossed and turned not able to get my brain to calm down between the nervousness  and excitement knowing that if my idea works I would be sitting across from her and would be able to talk to her as soon as maybe next week.  After I finally got to sleep I had an alarm set about a half hour earlier so I had the time to drive by the address before heading into work. I drove there barely able to keep the smile from becoming to large for the situation, and as I saw the house come into view i almost jumped out of my moving car. I parked about three houses away and walked onto the porch. but just as I was about to slip the letter under her door I noticed the entire house was empty and she was gone. I was too late and I had missed my chance. I couldn't find her again there was no other addresses for her or for her immediate family. "You were too late if you would have maybe come just a couple days earlier you would have caught her but no you were stupid and and idiot to wait this long." I said to myself slamming my foot into the wall near me. "Fuck!" I yelled out a minute later the pain in my foot getting to me.

As I began walking back to my car a woman stopped me and said. "If you're looking for Maiden she left she been gone about a month trying to get away from people around here." She said and gave me a smile. "Oh well could you tell me where she went it is very important. I,m a friend of her mothers and she needs me to talk to her about something" I said knowing it was a lie, but I needed something that would make the lady tell me the new address, she quickly looked around nervously before whispering an address in my ear. I thanked her and left. When I got back to my house I realized the address she gave me was next door to me. I froze as I walked into my living room realizing that I already knew she was living here, but I had payed no attention to my neighbor when he was telling about the new girl, she was the new girl, Maiden was right here the whole time and I didn't even know it.
