I left early and Cara drove me home. I've had enough of this day and it's only nine in the morning. The bruise that Mike had left on my arm was getting darker and darker and there was a dull ache traveling up my arm.
I decided after an hour of debating with myself that icing my arm would help the ache and the slight swelling.
"Ayla?" It was Lucca, the oldest of Addee and Aldofo's children.
"Si, Little Man?" I asked, ruffling his curls with my bad arm hid behind my back.
"I'm not little, anymore. Oh, and I already saw. Everyone is gonna be mad you didn't tell them." He said smartly before turning back to the fridge and rummaging around aimlessly.
"They'll only be mad if they find out." I gave him a pointed look and took my arm out of hiding as I reached up to the over head cabinets for a zip lock sandwich baggy to put ice in.
"Find out what?" A deep Italian voice sounded from behind me, making me jump and almost fall from my spot where I was perched on the counter.
"Jesu! What's the matter with you?" I cried out, waving my arms around frantically like the Italian woman I was.
"Find out what, Ayla? Don't make me repeat myself again." Okay, so Sebatiano was mad.
Instead of answering the angry, frightening, man in front of me, I decided that fiddling with my necklace was a better idea.
"Ayla!" He barked again. Okay, he wasn't mad. He was furious, livid even.
I cringed delicately and pouted before showing Sebastiano the angry, purple, swollen bruise that covered almost my whole forearm.
"Was it that little American brat?" Pretty Boy spat, grinding his teeth together.
I yanked my hand out of his gentle grasp and carried on with my mission of getting ice for my arm. When I was finished and the bag rested on my forearm, I quickly spun on my heel before saying, "It's really none of your business."
As I scurried to my room, I heard Sabastiano cuss in Italian and a loud banging noise as something clattered to the floor.
