Zaras's P.O.V
I precisely remember me and Anna's first meeting and how our friendship was born. We were in nursery school and Anna's mum (Shirley) had just dropped her off for her first day. Our nursery leader- I think I remember her name as Tracey- gave me strict instructions to look after Anna. Me being me I decided to oblige. I first remember my impression of Anna. Dumb blonde girl, loud, shouty and very tall. Thanks to Tracey me and Anna stayed the best of friends for about 8 years from when we were three to when we were eleven. In the past five years I'm still labelled as her "best friend" but deep inside I know that's not how either of us feel. Kelly-Anne's a much more suitable best friend in Anna's mind.
I smile as I remember the memories from that sweet time when we were still in nursery school. Walking into the school gates this morning was different, I've got no idea as to why, but it just seemed so weird. Everyone stopped talking as I walked through the gates and I am honestly a really self conscious person. Yeah that didn't help. I've got some feeling Brad or Anna (or both) are the reason for everyone's strange feelings toward me.
"Zara! You didn't ask me about Brad and my date!" Anna shrieks in my ear.
As usual I forget where I am and that my idiot friend is stood next to me towering over at her great height like she normally does. You see Anna plays netball- she plays goal shooter- and the P.E teacher loves her because she's so fucking tall . She nudges me to indicate this is my queue to start asking her awkward questions about her upcoming date.
"Ummm... okay then.. where are you two going this weekend?" I stutter.
Anna smiles gleefully, "Guess silly! I want you to guess!"
Seriously she doesn't act like a sixteen year old at all at times.
"Oh I don't know: Nandos maybe?!" my sarcasm needs to be controlled sometimes.
Fortunately (or unfortunately depending how you see it) Anna caught some of the netball team's eyes and rushed over to gabble to them instead about her so very exciting date. I have a feeling Brad's not going to be broadcasting this event quite as much as Anna is. Just a hunch.
After Anna ditched me for more cooler people I saw a fresh face swaggering towards to me, one I'd never seen before. This (guy it was) came and stood in front of me in the corridor. I have no idea why, I was just trying to have a quiet Friday morning. This new guy had a nose ring and one ear pierced. I've always been against tattoos and piercings personally but, on him they looked great! Cool almost. He'd been blocking my way now for approximately 20 seconds. It was clear he was not going to budge. I looked him up and down and observed his clothing. A denim jacket that had all the buttons undone, black skinny jeans, black doc martens, a white t-shirt and a cross on a chain around his neck.
"Excuse me I just need to get past there. Sorry." I muttered towards his direction.
"I'm Connor Ball I just moved to this school and thought you looked cool. I only talk to cool people."
Right, what an absolute nutter. What is he going on about. I honestly can't even be bothered to ask. So instead of starting a conversation with this strange boy that wants to be my friend -even though I've never met or heard of him before- I push past and walk on to my English lesson. Like I said I'm just trying to have a nice quiet Friday morning.
