she could not return home, for that place was no longer her home. people there had done things to her, horrible things and she couldn't bear it. the saddest part was that she wanted to go back. she yearned for her old life, where the only things that hurt were scraped knees.

where she lived now wasn't even her home. it was a room that she filled with objects that were supposed to represent her but were just an echo of her former self. she wanted to go home. she wanted to stay far, far away from home.

life was hard.

she gazed across her room to the window to the familiar yet strange street of where she now lived. this was not her home.

this was just a room filled with her safest sounds.
