“Geez, I never thought you’d phone me so fast,” Niko’s teasing voice tickled my ear.

I blushed while Hinata opened her eyes excitedly. Niko was on speaker phone and Hinata could hear every word he spoke. It was kind of creepy, not knowing that someone else was listening in on your conversation. I shivered. Finally I picked up the courage to speak.

“What makes you think I was planning on calling you?” I snap. I don’t mean to, Nerves had taken over me like aliens on Planet Earth.

“I’m the one who made you happy, no?” Niko asked.

I shivered at his English accent, not quite used to his way of talking Japanese. But beggars can’t be choosers. I was stuck with Niko as a fake boyfriend no matter what. Now that I thought about it, what if Niko doesn’t agree with being a fake boyfriend? He was kind and charming, but that didn’t mean he didn’t have a bad side.

A lady outside the stall harrumphs as she washes her hands. We three stifle our laughter. When she finally exits we laugh.

“Are you in a bathroom stall?” Niko asked.

“Whatever, look we have a little favour we need your help with…”

“Always here. I promised you, didn’t I, Sakura?”

“No I don’t think so, but whatever, right? So youll help us?”

“Whose us?”

“Sakura Haruno and my sexy little friend here,” I wink at Hinata.

“Oooh, is that my prize?”

“No.”

“I’ll help you.”

“Great, meet us at the mall entrance in 10 minutes. Come alone.”

Soft music played in the elevator as Niko, Hinata and I stood in awkward silence going up to the café on level 4 of the mall. Somewhere along the way, we’d lost Naruto. Hinata, instead of worrying like her usual self, back then, was calm and cool the entire time.

When we entered the coffee shop, the familiar smell of Japanese herbal tea mixed with the western lattes and mochas flooded into our noses. Niko and Hinata grabbed a table for three while I went up to the lady to order.

“I’ll have two lattes and one original grass tea,” I say, reading the menu that hangs above her head.

“Coming right up,” she says cheerfully and turns away.

I stare back at my table with Hinata and Niko. The lady, back already notices my gaze and looks at them too. Her face is a cross between worry and fear. She hands over the drinks and as the last one goes into my hand she grabs it.

“Is that girl with him?”

“No, we’re just friends,” I say.

She sucks in a gasp and lowers her voice, “Stay away from him, he’s bad news.”

“What do you mean?”

“Yuuki-Chan!”

We both look at our new interferer who smiles at me but whips a glare at the lady, otherwise known as Yuuki.

“Do you got your drinks?” The disturbance asks me.

“Yes, I do.”

“Don’t let us keep you waiting then,” she smiles.

I turn away from them and walk back to our table. I give out everyone’s drinks and for the next few minutes we slurp them up, contentedly. The grass tea burns my throat a little, they’d never be able to top my grandmothers, but it was okay. I was never really into the western stuff like mochas and lattes. I appreciated the Japanese originals more.

“Niko Usui, meet Hinata Hyuuga,” I say.

My eye catches a hint of movement. Niko’s right eye twitches and he falls silent, but only for a half a second. His eyes turn dark and misty and his mouth scowls. But it’s over in a flash. The next second he’s leaning over the table, shaking Hinata’s hand with a huge grin.

“So nice to meet you, Hinata-San.”

“Nice to meet you too, Usui,” Hinata says, calm and cool and collected.

As always. Lucky bitch. Well, maybe no always.

“So…we were wondering, do us a favour?” Hinata asked, cocking her head to the side.

Usui followed every movement of hers with a trained eye.

“Depends on what it is,” his deep voice replied.

I heard a hint of a smirk in it. But I ignored it. Bad mistake.
