Five and 1/2 Months Ago
"I haven't heard from Thor in two weeks." Katrina worried on the phone to her best friend since kindergarten.
Katrina and Thor had returned to the states two weeks ago. Since they went their separate ways, Katrina had not heard a word from him. With his tweet and IG notifications going on, nothing was happening.
"I'm sure everything is fine, boo." cooed her best friend. All the way from Chicago, her friend was a middle school teacher. Katrina willingly paid for her friend's schooling and any trouble she faced. "Let me tell you about these bad ass kids." rambled Jasmine.
Jasmine Rhodes had been there recording Katrina in her small bedroom since they were thirteen. Of course then, it was merely 2003 and hard to get anything publicized those days. She was somewhat a reminder of Katrina's humble beginnings.
"Oh you love the kids," laughed Kat. The change in subject was nice, but she couldn't help but think about Thor. "What'd they do this time?"
"Goddammit Kat, I mean their damn near thirteen. They still stick gum on desk and piss on themselves." Kat could sense her best friends infamous eye roll from the 1,746 miles away she was.
"You have to come out for the summer." Kat was missing her best friend more than ever, it had been too long since they both had reunited. "LA with you would be great."
"I had to come out like yesterday. Girl this is not worth it. They are making my boobs swell." Jasmine huffed. "Forget pain in the ass, they're a pain in the breast."
Katrina was used to her best friends vulgar comments so it didn't phase her. Her friend's potty mouth had stemmed from her older three brothers and single father raising four kids.
After her laughing fit, Kat asked. "You alright though?"
"Yeah, I'll be fine girl. Just pray for me and these damn kids."
After talking for a little bit, Katrina and Jasmine said their goodbyes to continue to their current lives.
Katrina found herself sitting alone in her 3.2 million dollar condo over looking the city. If it was any other quiet night, Kat would subject herself to finish her album. A few touches had to be made and she was debating on adding and taking away some songs.
Her well anticipated album had been on the forefront of every blog and magazine. All of the publicity she had received without even announcing the album name.
Pulling out her Lyric Journal she carried everywhere with her, her phone sat beside idle. Kat peeked over at it every other nanosecond to make sure Thor made no sudden movements. They were in the same state and Kat wasn't even sure if he was alive. Thor hadn't done as much as to text her that he had gotten home safely since their return from Mexico.
Without any warning, Kat's phone began to buzz. She snatched it quicker than the second ring could emit. THOR in big letters read across the top.
Katrina had been waiting for his call for so long, she seemed as if it was a high school crush. This was her boyfriend, and he was treating her like some groupie. The more Kat let it simmer in, she understood that she had just treated him to a free vacation and he dipped on her. She wasn't even sure if she wanted to pick up anymore. Until she did.
Silence.
"Babe," Thor's voice finally rang. It felt like a relief to hear. Just a simple word could make her forget her anger towards the man she loved and be ready to drop her pants. "You there?"
"Yeah." Kat answered coldly.
"What's up?"
What's up? That's it?!
