5 Months Ago - Grammy's
The Grammy's weren't just something you were casually nominated for. Musics' biggest stage. And Kat had made it.
Her second studio album was a hit, although everyone told her she was a shoe-in, she couldn't believe it until she got the call- and the roar on social media. Not only was she nominated, but she was asked to preform as well.
The glam squad showed up ten hours early. They picked and prodded her with their pins but Katrina didn't mind, she was all smiles. Everything was perfect. Katrina and Thor were back on top, as soon after they solved it with some dirty make-up sex, her favorite. She was nominated for her first Grammy after four years dedicated to the gruesome music industry.
"What are you going to sing tonight Edith?" Asked her mother. Although Katrina hated her middle name and when she was called it, she knew it meant the world to her mother. A solemn tribute to her grandmother from passing away a whole month before Katrina was born. "They said they need to know by noon. And it's already going on eleven thirty." Opal said all of this without looking up from her phone.
The internal battle between going soft or rocking out for tonight's look was more important. How could she choose what song she would sing when she didn't even have her attire set?
"Not now, I have to pick out my dress." Katrina blankly stated, being pushed in the the tenth gown of the morning.
"I told you the third one was lovely, darling. You'll choose that one I just know it!" Katrina couldn't help but just roll her eyes. Out of all of the unique outfits she'd had tried on, Katrina hated her mothers choice the most. "Giselle, let's try the green dress again!"
The dress was of a hideous green hue that remarked the color of the earth and vomit. Katrina hated the color green unless it was in her wallet. At the moment, she couldn't believe her mother even suggested such a thing-then it occurred to her who her mother was. A remarkable lawyer from rural Alabama who beat all of the odds just to raise three girls.
Although similar in appearances, Katrina couldn't be anything but different from her disagreed constantly and when they weren't it was because they were far away from each other. Katrina had a lot of love and respect for her mom, it was just shown in an odd way. It wasn't always like this, but as time progressed and the lights grew bigger-so did the gap that linked them together.
Giselle could see the unwillingness in Katrina's eyes, but being that neither of them wanted to upset Opal, she grabbed the green dress off of the silver railing pulling it out. Katrina silently pleaded with Giselle with her eyes as Giselle poorly avoided them.
"We will put a cute necklace and jewelry." whispered Giselle while unzipping the dress Katrina was currently in. "They'll be worth so much you'll forget about this rag."
Katrina chuckled lightly after a single tear dropped. Before it could reach her cheek, Giselle swiftly wiped it away. Katrina was such a baby, especially when it came to her mom. She hated how upset she made Katrina on her special night.
The Grammy's was the biggest stage she could preform on, she wanted everything to be perfect. And if her mom chose everything, there was definitely the chance it would be the opposite.

Present Day
A familiar pang of a headache filled Katrina in the early morning. It was only three, way too early for her to even think about getting up. She was still dressed from her fancy get-up from her single release party.
Rolling around, she felt a body in the plush bed beside her. Scared and hoping it wasn't a man, although it couldn't be as she was still fully dressed in the uncomfortable attire. Bianca's loud snores quickly snapped Kat out of her worried. Thank God, Kat laughed.
