Chapter 2

Don't Blow it

'Even though I was five minutes early, I pacing up and down the sidewalk infront of Clarissa's house.

Each and every morning I was over-joyed to see her, she had a smile that could make anyone smile.

To me she was just what I've been looking for in a girl.

And I think that I Justin Drew Bieber, do want to take it to the next level with her, but how? I wonder if she likes me like that or not?

I just want to...' as Justin was deep in his thoughts, he was distracted by the sound of a small, furry-like, golden, four-legged friend's bark.

To only see a golden retriever puppy running down the pathway from Clarissa's house with a huge grin on its face.

'Clarissa had a dog? Hmm, I didn't know! But how didn't she tell me? She knows that I love dogs.'

He was then caught off-guard, as the puppy jumped into Justin's arms and happily playing with him.

All that could've been seen on Justin's face was the giant smile that was plastered across it.

Suddenly, he looked up due to the sound of running footsetps.

It was Clarissa and as she approached Justin, her speed slowed down and her worried, searching look transformed to a smile.

"Well, I'm guessing you two met." she said. "You never told me you had a dog!" his grin lessened.

She giggled, "I don't! This is Duke. And his owner asked me to dog-sit while they go on a business trip."

Justin now had a frown, "OH! Well....that's....okay. I just thought....that it was....yours.

You know how much I love dogs. I would've come over and help you take care of it each and everyday.

But..it's not...yours."  "Yeah, he has to go back home thursday evening.

BUT, I'm sure that you'll get a dog soon!" she comforted him. "And what are the chances of that?" he asked seriously.

"Well...umm..oh look! Your birthday is coming up.

Maybe you might get one." she shrugged.

"But what if I want this one?" he looked down at Duke, still in his hands, wagging his tail uncontrolably.

"Don't worry! Just give it some time." she said "Those who wait, should receive, right?" "Yeah, I guess." he sadly said.

"Come on, we're gonna be late for school."

And with that, she took Duke back inside, relieved that Justin believed everything she said and that he loved the dog.

As she locked the front door, they began to head off to school.

"So you excited for friday?" Clarissa questioned Justin happily.

"What's happening on friday?" he joked, pretended that he forgot that his birthday was right around the corner.

"All of us are going bowling. That's all. Nothing least that important." she giggled, playing along with him.

"Ouch! My birthday isn't important?" he gave a fake hurt look.

"I knew you couldn't old it in. You're excited, aren't you?" she said.

"Of course I am. Me and my best friends going bowling, now that's sounds fun after a long day at school." he replied.

"Yeah!" she said in agreement.

"But I really wanted to have a party!" he exclaimed sadly, "oh well, next time."

"Don't worry! We'll make it the best birthday ever." Clarissa said trying to cheer him up.

"Knowing my best friends, I would expect that." he smiled. "Awww, there's that smile we're looking for." she teased. "Whatever" he chuckled.

The week went by thankfully slowly, as Clarissa was planning a surprise birthday party for Justin.

And both her and her friends had to be very careful and not seem too suspicious around Justin as the week came closer to an end.

However, Justin thought that they were just going to go bowling for his birthday. Little did he know the party was at the bowling alley, where even more surprises would be held?
