Third POV:
The bell rang, and Katherine knew that this was going to be the most crucial part of her day. Choosing what table to sit at. Since she had no friends she was definitely at the bottom of the food chain.
As I said before High School runs on strict laws. Where you sit in the Lunchroom is your permanent spot, for the rest of your High School careers. So listen up.
The smallest cube table is where the Mathletes sit. If you wanna commit social suicide, then please be my guest and sit there. The next table is reserved for the Choir- liars. They don't talk. They sing- everything, little too much for me, but it's your life. The next one is actually known as dead-space. No one sits there.
The table after that is for all of the Band geeks. Honestly, what they talk about the entire time- I don't know. They communicate with their instruments. They use some code, not really my style, but you can do whatever you like. Now the next one is our very own Charming Prince's. AKA. Court prince's the most popular guys in school. They aren't that terrible, but they aren't that nice either. I don't really have an opinion, but if you want to, go for it!
Let's see at the smallest round table we have the Orcha- dorks. Who I don' t pay any attention to anyway, but it's a quaint little group, I guess. Ok, so next we have the Anime talkers. I don't know why, but I don't like them. They are just so... animated. After that there is the Goth's. You know, it is so not true that black is the new pink.
After that we have the nerd Squad. They're a lot bigger than I thought they would be, but whatever. Next we have the Jocks. Good eye candy. Too bad that they come with WARNING: DOES NOT COME WITH A BRAIN. Written in fine print. Then that Diamond and square table are both dead- space to make way for the Queen. Yup, you guessed it. That is where the Court princess's sits. Sitting there is a big no-no.
Katherine was standing at the lunch line awkwardly looking around. She looked at the questionably meat burger and sighed. She just grabbed a coffee because she's a vegetarian. She looked for a place to sit, and after a while of looking, she decided she would just walk to a random-
"Ow!" Katherine screamed, while getting knocked on the floor. For the second time that day. 'Gosh, what is it with me and running into people today,' Katherine thought. Then she realized she was... Wet?
'Crap. I was holding coffee.' Katherine realized and mentally face palming for how slow she can be.
"Oh, my gosh. I'm so sorry," said the person, who she stupidly bumped into. Katherine looked up, to see an athletic body right in front of her. She tried not to blush at the fact she was just sitting on the floor looking like an idiot with checking out a popular guy. She looked up at his face to see his clean cut strawberry blond hair, but what shocked her where his deep hazel eyes. She could get lost in them all day. She recognized the boy in front of her. Standing there was Hayden Claufield. When he held out his hand to help her up she was cut out of her trance. She blushed even more and cursed at herself for letting her hormones get the best of her.
Ok, so here's the 411, on Hayden Claufield. He is ridiculously hot. I am talking Taylor Lautner hot. He has two siblings, a younger sister and older brother. His younger sister's name is Skylar, or something like that. He is captain of the football team, and every single girl swoons at the sight of him. Lastly he's dating Tally.
Hayden looked at her for a moment. Then his eyes traveled to the stain on her shirt, which was awkward because it was right over her breast. Then he realized she had spilled her coffee on herself because of him.
"Oh, uh, here take this," he said as he took of his letterman jacket. Katherine took the jacket, and placed over her shoulders. She couldn't help but feel special wearing his jacket. Even though she's never talked to him before she felt like he cared. She was chanting in her head so much for him to not be an arrogant player or as Caroline would call them a 'butt nugget'.
"I'm sorry about this. I wasn't paying any attention. Oh, and thank you for the jacket," Katherine said. They were awkwardly silent for a long time.
"Oh, um, I can get you some more coffee," Hayden said, "By the way, my name's Hayden."
"You really don't have to do that," Katherine said, "Oh, and my name's Katherine."
"Yeah, I know. You had a bit of a run in with my... high strung girlfriend. I am sorry about her. Deep down she really is sweet,"
"Very deep down apparently. Wait. She told you about me? Ugh! Great. First day, and the Queen already hates me. I'm probably on her guillotine list!" Katherine said.
After that Hayden gave Katherine a confused smile that then went sweet, that made butterflies fly around in her stomach. Hayden ended up winning the argument over whether he was going to buy her another cup of coffee. After he got her coffee, they were discussing-
"Hayden! Hey, baby," Tally came up, and interrupted Katherine's time of delight, "Ugh! What are you doing talking to this trash? Ugh! And what do you have on your shirt?" Tally asked sounding disgusted.
"Ask your boyfriend. He is the one who ran into me," Katherine answered snarkily. Katherine swear she saw Hayden blush just the smallest amount.
"Ugh you dumb rich bitch," Tally sneered at me. I don't even know how she knows my family is wealthy. I wouldn't say we're rich because I feel like it sounds rude.
"Buy some better insults," I said while placing a $20 in her hand. I don't have time for her.
"Whatever. Hayden let's go," Tally said as she pulled away her boyfriend. Katherine heard him whisper a goodbye to her. She finished her coffee, and then went to her next class, which was English. She was in kind of a bad mood because of what happened in the cafeteria. .
She walked in, and immediately noticed a lot of... pink flamingos? 'Yeah,' she thought, 'those are definitely pink flamingos. But... why?' The second thing she noticed was her brother, John. He was talking to Hayden in the back of the classroom. She didn't even care that he was talking to Hayden right now. She was trying to figure out how John was in her class.
It's true that Katherine was a year ahead in English, but Katherine thought her brother was in Honors.
