Jane and I walked into class together and got tons of stares, I was used to it and she just waved at everyone. The bell rung and I sat in the back, like I always do, waiting for the teacher to introduce Jane. "Class," she starts, "This is our new student." She turns to Jane, "Would you like to introduce yourself?"
"Hello," Jane starts, dramatic as always, "My name is Jane and I am probably the most amazing person you're going to meet." Everyone claps like you're supposed to do and I give a little whoop, causing everyone to turn around and look at me, surprised. I just stick out my tongue, no longer having to care about getting in trouble.
The teacher notices and a smile grows on her face as she says, "Obviously some of you already know Jane." As the day goes by the classes go by relatively the same; everybody loves Jane, including the teachers. We make our way to lunch and Luke sits down next to me. He kisses me on the cheek and I notice that everyone but Jane is staring. Of course she wouldn't stare, she was the one who found my old boyfriend in Minnesota. She knows that if I really try I can look absolutely stunning, no one else here has ever even seen me look good.
Lila and her squad come up to me and start trying to talk to Jane, who has gotten really popular, but Jane just starts talking to me and I'm slightly stunned. By now I had expected her to just ride the popularity wave. Lila coughs before rudely saying, "Excuse me, I'm talking to you." Jane just ignores her and keeps eating her lunch, not even bothering to look at her. "I'M TALKING TO YOU," she screams at the top of her lungs.
"Obviously she doesn't care," I tell Lila and this causes Jane to get a smug smile on her face. Lila just looks at me before storming off and having her gang follow her. People start to gather around and sit with us, thinking that I had actually won an argument against Lila. They obviously didn't know her very well. She was just storming off to think of a way to get back at me. No matter what Lila was not going to let me win, she was gonna keep attacking me until she won. Well guess what Lila, I'm not going to let you do anything to me, she's got no dirt on me and I'm not going to let her get any.
"Hey," Jane says, snapping me back to reality, "You wanna hang out tomorrow?"
"Sorry, my mom's coming back tomorrow and I planned on spending the whole day with her."
"Really? I'm so happy for you. You better catch up with her; if she doesn't know everything about me that you do I'm going to be disappointed."
"Don't worry," I laugh, "I'll make sure she knows my whole life story."
"Ms.Jackson," I look up and see that the principle is standing over me, "Could I have a moment?"
"Yeah, sure." I get up, confused, and follow him to his office. I haven't done anything wrong so I don't know why he would want to talk to me. I walk in and sit in a chair. He closes the door and sits at his desk. He straightens up his desk, taking what seems like forever, before grabbing a pencil and putting a paper in front of himself. I make an audible gulp and he looks up at me before putting his hands on the desk all proper like.
"Now Ms.Jackson, there's nothing to be afraid of right?" He gives me a smug smile and I feel as though I might die. What could I have possible done? Lila must have lied to him and told him I did something I didn't do. I can feel the panic setting in.
