“There she is”. Exclaimed a tall thin woman, wearing red lipstick, white long top up to ankles and brown tights. Brown shades were resting on her head. Her hair was black, short up to neck and straight. Women like these are often called ‘modern’ in their society because of their appealing fashion sense and sober manners.
She gave a wide smile after watching a girl in plain blue shirt, black trouser and thick black scarf wrapped around her neck. Her thick dark brown short hair was gathered in a small ponytail. She was coming out from the exit door of the Karachi airport. This medium heighten, fair colored girl was a lot younger than the woman standing outside in the lounge.
“Sarah, my niece”, the woman exclaimed again and opened her arms wide for a hug.
“Oh my dear, you have grown so old”, she said and pressed her niece tightly. “But you haven’t changed a bit, aunt Maira”, commented Sarah releasing her aunt.

“So, how did it get you?” Maira asked while driving her silver prosmetic.
“Well”, replied Sarah “after completing my Psy.D, I applied for job in many clinics, hospitals and rehabilitation centers. Then I received this call from ‘Karachi general hospital’ two weeks ago that they had accepted my resume. Now my interview is going to be this Friday. Lets hope I get the job there, it would be great for a start.”
“What day is today?’ inquired Maira looking at the rear view mirror.
“Uh, Tuesday”, the reply came.
“Well you have two days between the big day so until then have some fun”, Maira said and gave a big smile of her red lips to her niece. Sarah smiled back and nodded showing agreement.
Sarah had come all the way from Lahore to Karachi to get a good job. A determined woman she was, Sarah never felt pressurized into anything. She always dreamt of becoming a psychologist and practicing it. Of course Lahore was an excellent place to practice it since it was a lot safer there but she always wished to live in Karachi. She was seated on the front seat and looking outside the window observing the streets of Karachi which were very different from Lahore’s, they were even different from the way they were 10 years before when she first visited her aunt. She was expecting a thrilling journey but who knew that the thrill was also expecting her.
