Why I hate humans

My name is Rosa Azeria,  but most foxes just call me Rosa. I have two sisters and one brother, I think.  The war is almost apon us, there is no time to search out familly. I am prepared to fight, I have nothing to lose. The chances of winning are far from even, all though we out number the enemy by billions, they have one thing that the rest of us don't, fire.  We have little hope of winning, although it is there.  The predators of the forest are gathering to fight.  I don't know about the prey. In this forest, there are two categories, the hunter and the hunted. Although I eat plants, I am an omnivore so I qualify for the Carnivore group. Humans are the only exceptions. They are on a much higher level then all of us, and that is why we have to kill them. No other species can speak to humans, you can only communicate with others of your group. For instance, I can speak to wolves but not to rabbits. Predators speak to predators, prey speak to prey, and humans are unaware of it all. Thats the way it always has been and thats the way it always will be, up until the end of time. When I was a cub the humans intrigued me. The way they ride around in the shiny beasts that no one can speak to, the beautiful dens they craft with their flexible paws. The humans are the only creatures on Earth that have learned the secret to fire. They discovered it long ago and millions of years later, the rest of us still can't figure it out. The elders tell tales of a time when we could speak to humans. They were weak, defenceless creatures categorized as lowly prey. They were a wonderful species for hunting, as they were completely useless. They had no fangs or claws to fight with and very little fur to warm them. They couldn't climb well, were very poor diggers and had no special survival traits what so ever. The humans had gone almost completely extinct when the great creator finally took pity on them. He gave them a gift, a small gift meant only to help them survive, fire. After that the humans just kept getting stronger and stronger. They no longer needed fur to keep them warm, they had no use for claws, the fire acted as their weapon. After a time they began to cook meat, which made them smart. Once they were smart they were able to create wonderful things that they used to destroy us. We tried to speak to them but with no luck. They had become too strong for any animal to communicate with. As a small child the thought of a genius, powerful species was too much for me to imagine, I had to see them. So one night, all alone, I snuck out of the forest. As quietly as I could I crept on to their streets. It was the most incredible thing I had ever seen. Somehow, the humans had found a way to capture fragments of the sun's rays and store them in magical containment bubbles so they couldn't escape.  They had these prisoners stored everywhere, even in their dens. Their large dens were everywhere. Sneakily, I crawled onto the grass around their burrows and looked through one of the warm ice sheets into their den. Four humans sat around a fire burning brightly on a log. How it didn't set their den on fire I don't know. Two of them were small so I assumed they were cubs. Two were larger, adults. I couldn't tell the genders, humans like to keep their genders a secret. One of the cubs was getting closer to me. It was babbling in that language I can't understand. I saw the adult stand up. It stood completely straight and walked over on two long legs. It kept it's balance very well, I could never do that.  I saw it look straight at me, but it didn't come near. It picked up a strange object and began to babble. I sat there for a long time staring at the humans. Everyone said they're bad, but they aren't. They know I'm here, but they haven't harmed me. I'm small, easy prey, I'd make a lovely dinner. Suddenly I felt a sharp prick in my back. I turned to see what it was but my vision blurred. I felt woozy and exhausted. I wanted to sleep but I knew I needed to stay awake. I heard the humans begin to babble at each other then felt something pinch my ear, I still remember the pain. I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. When I woke up I was in a part of the forest that I had never seen before. Immediately I began to search for my family. No one could help me, I was in a different forest. No one had even heard of the place I had come from. Finally, I met a kind otter that told me to ask the leader. Each group has a leader, our leader is a strong wolf named Moonshine. She is the fiercest, bravest, most honoured creature in the forest, even lowly worms tremble when her name is spoken. I walked for days to get to her part of the forest but the defenders wouldn't even let me in. The told me that I was a disgrace for coming here, that marked animals are a danger to the alfa. I walked away confused. I was drinking from a large puddle when I finally looked down and saw my reflection. The humans had stabbed a mettle ring into my ear. I then knew why animals had looked at me so funny since I got here. I could never meet or even go near the alfa now, the humans could track my position.  So now you know my story, I hope you enjoyed it because I ruined my life living it. That's the reason why I hate humans. One of them marked me, so now I can never be the same again. The humans ruined my life so now it's about time I ruin theirs.
