After a dreaded week of school, I’m going to Brisbane to visit my brother, his girlfriend and my other sister and her daughter. I am so excited!! I have 2 weeks off for school holidays so I’m going there for 2 weeks and coming back a day before school starts to get away from the drama with the family here thats causing me stress. It’s currently Friday and I’m leaving Saturday. I pack all my bags while kiking Amy, James and Sonia. After 2 and a half hours, I have packed some shirts, shorts undies, bikinis, dresses, some nice clothes, and toiletries leaving out the ones I needed for in the morning.
“ALICIA!! Dinner is ready!!” Mum yelled from down stairs.
I ran down stairs eager to eat, I look on the table and see a pot of spaghetti and garlic bread.
“YUM!” My sister Shannon and I exclaimed at the same time.
“I just wanted to make your favourite before you go… Anyways. Do you have everything packed? We’re going to the airport at 3 in the morning, the plane leaves at 5 and you’ll get there at about 8 – 8:30 okay?”
“Sure!” After I finished eating I went for a quick bath, said all my goodbyes and ran upstairs moving all my luggage to the door so I can just grab it and go. I jump into some leggings and a flowey top that goes just above mid-thigh.
Four hours later my alarm goes off and I spring out of bed, I brush my teeth and decide I look okay in what I’m wearing, I put my hair into a messy bun and make a quick vegemite sandwich to snack on, on the way there. I turn on the radio and Fitzy and Wippa are on playing re-runs of yesterdays radio session.
“It’s rumored the blokes from One Direction are in Brissy for a little holiday, they’ll be staying there for 2 or so weeks before continuing their world tour.”
I looked at mum as soon as I heard the news, I whipped my phone out and kik’d James telling him about One Direction being in Brisbane. I am finally going to be in the same city as them!
We got to the airport and it was already 4am so I had another hour till’ I have to board the plane. I started Kiking James to pass time, we have gotten so close over the past few weeks.
"Hey Twining's, I have a hour till I catch the plane, it's 4 am here :L what are you doing?"
It's been an hour and he still hasn't replied, he might just be out with his friends... Or at work? He tends to work a lot... Yeah, that's what it is.
It's now 5 O'clock and I say good bye to mum so I can board the plane. Because I'm 14 and travelling on JetStar I have to have a flight attendant accompany me the whole plane trip. I take a seat and thank the lord I have the whole 3 seats to myself! We don't take off for another 15 minutes so I plug my headphones into my phone and put on Ed Sheerans + album.
After a boring 3 hour flight, I got my overhead baggage and saw my brothers’ girlfriend. She ran over to me with a huge smile on her face, she then embraced me in a huge hug.
“Oh my goodness Alicia, I haven’t seen you in ages! I missed you so much… Look at you!” Faith squealed, finally letting me go.
“I missed you too Faith, and nothing a little puberty can’t handle” She laughed her cute laugh then showed me the way to the carpark.
“So how long are you staying?”
“Just 2 weeks," She gave me a sad look.
"I only have Tuesdays' off and the weekends" Faith sighed.
"Well, while your at work, i'll just stay or come with you and walk around the shops," I say, thinking of all the shopping I could easily get done. Understanding me, Faith nods and laughs.
"Come on, Brenden's waiting," She slung her arm around my shoulders and led me off to the car.
We blast the One Direction music throughout the small car and sing along in our not-so-intune voices. Faith tells me about her new life in Brissy and how she occasionally gets home sick but she has Brenden so it's okay.
I tell Faith about One Direction being in Brisbane for a two week holiday, just like me. She's used to my little fangirl sessions, so she doesn't really bother react, apart from a small chuckle.
