[Mike P.O.V]

The ride to Indianapolis was short and awkward.  “So, Um these people we’re staying with...Do they have any children?” Vic asked with a hint of excitement.

“Yes. A daughter called Cara who is 16 and a son called River who is 17.” My mum replied not looking up from her phone. A smirk grew on Vics face. We arrived about 10 minutes later to a large white, modern house. There was a colossal driveway with a fountain in the middle and green shrubs on both sides of it. It was a stereotypical mansion that any 17 year old would die to live in.

We got out of the car and Vic shot up to the door and studied the wall next to it looking for a doorbell.

“Its on the right.” I told him. He turned around to look at me and threw me an evil glare.

“ I don’t need you to tell me where it is, Mi--.” He grunted in quite an annoyed manner but was interrupted to the door being opened.

[Vic P.O.V]

A girl with complete black hair stood before us.. She had pinned her hair up in a ponytail as she greeted us with cold smiles, “Hey. I’m Caraphernelia but  just call me Cara”

My eyes flicker over Mike’s.

“I’m assuming you’re the Fuentes Family?”
“Yeah” I redirect my gaze to Cara, “Yeah we are”

“Oh great..” She mutters to herself in utter sarcasm.

I didn’t understand this girl. What did we do to be treated so rudely?

“I’m supposed to tour you guys..” She silently grumbles as she shoves past us.

That’s a good enough invitation for us to follow her.

Mike and I rush over to Mum and Dad to pick up our bags.

“Victor, bring my bags will you?”

Ugh. Mum.. I look up to see her talking to Dad..

Ohmygod, yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! I don’t have to be doing her “chores.”

Before Mum could say another word I dart back to Cara.

It looked as if she kind of despised me..

Well, if it is that way.. Then the feeling is mutual..

“So, where’re you from?” We walk past the main building and go down some exterior steps. A few yards away from their house was another house. About a quarter the size of the colossal mansion.

“Uh..” I look around, “Nowhere important”

“You Fuentes’... So secretive” She rolls her eyes as we head up into the house.

She flings the door open and tosses some a key onto my chest, it bounces off and

she catches it again.

“Here’s the house key... Guard it with your life” She smiles as her dimples are revealed.

I take them from her hands as she tours the house with me.

“Well over here..” She gestures to a spacious area, “Is the living room”

The long white sofas situated behind a glass coffee table and across from a thin and large television. Perhaps half a metre tall and a metre wide implanted on the wall.

We cross over the room and next to the TV is a door leading into a modern, white kitchen. A little bit like the one in our old home, “Kitchen.. More or less a pantry since most of your meals will be with us in the main building.. It’s just.. Supper will be in here.. If you even want a supper”

We exit the kitchen, cross back over the living room and we head up the staircase that was right in front of the doors.

5 rooms..

“Your room” Her finger points to the nearest room, “Mike’s room..” She drags her finger over the room next to mine. Then perpendicular to Mike’s room is 3 others.

“Your parents.. The bathroom.. And this room is just for storage”

“Well, okay” I bolt back downstairs and bring my 2 bags of clothes and trolley bag up the stairs and dunk them into my bedroom floor.

Cara stands at my doorway, “All the meals will be in the main building.. See you at dinner” She skips down the steps and kicks the entrance open.

I’ve never had a room all to myself... A smirk rides up on my cheek
