During the drive home we were both silent. I decided to break it.
"What did little Ms. Blondie want?" I asked looking at him.
"You weren't there. The lady thought I was by myself. She wanted me to take her places. Being a diva. I said I was here with you. Then you came out and of course she stomps off like a diva. Jenn it's okay I only love you." He smiles, eyes still on the road.
"How are you?" He asks.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"The waiter." He says.
"Oh. I felt uncomfortable. He's just another one of those guys." I say. Josh grabs my hand.
"It's okay Jenn."
Josh and I reach home around ten minutes later. I unlock the door and I wake inside taking my uncomfortable, yet beautiful shoes off.
I meet Josh in the kitchen where I see my untouched purple jewelry, reminding me of that other surprise.
"What about the surprise?"
"Oh here."
Josh pulls out a black box. He hands it to me and I open the soft felt like materialized box. There sits a shiny silver necklace with a heart on the end. The word Always is engraved in the smooth metal.
"Oh my gosh. Josh it's beautiful." I say admiring the necklace.
"And it's just for you." He smiles.
Josh takes it and puts it around my neck.
"Thank you so much." I smile and run my lips into his.
I let go when we need air. I still admire the smooth and soft silver jewelry item around me neck.
"I love you." I say touching our foreheads together.
"I love you too." He smiles.
Just the words I wanted to hear...
