Chapter 6

The weeks have past since their reunion. Natsu was with Nashi 24/7 while Lucy went out to buy food or work with Jason with her editorial department.

They both agreed as soon as Nashi was a bit older, they'd go looking for their friends.

~Flashback~

"Natsu, I don't think now is the time".

The pink haired Mage paced around the room. Lucy was sitting in a rocking chair as she held their child in her arms, putting her in a deep sleep.

"Lucy, we have to look for our friends. It's how we can revive FairyTail".

She sighed, carefully getting up not trying to wake the small bundle in her arms.
".. I know you want to revive the guild.. But I don't know everyone's location. And I haven't kept track of them in a while since you came back.. And even if we could Nashi isn't big enough".

He ran his hand through his pink spiky hair and sighed.

"What will it take to change your mind Lucy"?

"Until Nashi can start walking, we can start reviving the guild"

"That's too long! What if we start loosing where they are Lucy"?

"Natsu"! She tried to keep her voice down.
"Keep it down, Nashi is asleep. And we can't do it now, she's barely 3 months old. And it be better this way"

"What makes this better"?

".. You can at least spend time with your daughter"  she spoke bitterly, making a point.

Those words really got to him. She was right. He wasn't there..

He wasn't there to help Lucy through the pregnancy. Not even there to hold her hand when Nashi was being born.

".. You're right.."
He leaned against the small crib looking down.
" I wasn't here to help you through this.. Let along help raise our baby.."

"Natsu.."
"No your right. We can wait Lucy. Till she takes her firsts steps and is able to walk on her own, we will revive the guild. Till then.."

He carefully stroked the sleeping child's soft cheek with the back of his index finger.

".. I want to be the dad Nashi deserves.."

Lucy smiled at the dragon slayer.

"I know you want to get our guild back.."

He looked up at Lucy.
".. But right now, our daughter needs memories with her father and mother.. And Happy. She needs to be with her family"

He smiled. "Ok..". He looked back to his sleeping little girl and kissed the top of her head.

"Lucy.."

Her attention turned to him.

" I love you.."

She softly smiled, leaning it till her head rested on his shoulder blade. "I love you too Natsu".

~Flashback ends~

Natsu haven't fallen asleep. He was staring at the sleeping face of his celestial wizard. Not only that he got up out of bed to check on his daughter, hoping something wasn't wrong.

He couldn't take his mind off them both. Ever since Lucy introduced his daughter to him, it was as if a train just ran him over on the tracks. Just the thought of that make him sick.

But his thoughts were interrupted by the soft little cry Nashi made. Slowly not waking up Lucy, he tiptoed towards the small room with the crib and check on her.

She was just awake. Her little brown eyes opening then closing.
"Yeah.. I can't sleep either Nashi.."

He carefully picked her up, cradling her head like Lucy taught him. Her blanket was still around her and draped over his arm as he held her.

".. All this training I did, just to only find out about you.."

The child stir in his arms, trying to get comfortable. He took this chance and sat in the rocker, slowly moving back and fourth. Just like how Lucy did.

He couldn't take his mind of his little girl. She may look like him, but she had Lucy's beauty for sure. A low chuckle came up from his throat at the thought.

" I'm sorry I took so long Nashi. But I'll do anything to protect you and your mother, you my happy little dragon.."

Nashi let out a happy gurgle before falling asleep.

".. I promise..".after that he kissed her head, then slowly nodded off. 

The blonde smiled happily as she saw the dragon slayer asleep with his child in his arms.

"Daddy's girl..".
