Chapter 9

"C'mon Nashi! C'mon"!

Nastu held his hands out, opening his arms for his little girl.

It had been at least a month. Nashi grew just a little, which was enough for her to crawl and start walking. And Natsu had been trying his best to help her. Course the impatient dragon slayer wasn't doing a good job. Nashi would have a wobbly balance at first but then she would stumble to the ground and crawl.

Happy sat on the bed, watching Natsu trying to make his daughter walk. And cheering her on for encouragement. "Yeah, go Nashi"!

The pink hair baby girl smiled and giggles, loving the attention she was getting from these two.
Lucy was out getting groceries at the moment. Normally she didn't trust Natsu alone..
But she knew he wouldn't put their daughter into any danger. And she left Happy in charge of Nashi should Natsu set anything on fire.

"Just one step Nashi. You can do it", he cheered.

Nashi did her best to keep her balance. Her little legs wobbling as she tried to move them and walk.

Natsu's eyes filled with hope as she lifted her leg. But he was soon met with disappointment when she fell and started crawling.
"Agh! Nashi..", he said, falling back and running his hand through his hair. Happy did the same.

It was at that moment that Lucy opened the door, walking in on her baby girl crawling into Natsu's lap.

She let out a soft giggle as she closed the door with her foot, having to carry to grocery bags in. "Don't worry, Natsu. She's gonna walk eventually".

Natsu picked himself up, letting Nashi try and crawl up to his shoulder, pushing her little body up. He took that time to pick her up and bounce her in his lap.
"I'm not giving up! I know she's ready"!

"She learns on her own. You can't force them to do these things at this age". She started putting the food away. Natsu picked himself up, walking to the kitchen while he held Nashi in his arms. "Why not? I learned with Igneel when I was younger"!

"Natsu, you were probably a bit stronger than Nashi. And Igneel is a dragon! You were probably scared at his encouragement than you tried running away from him", she joked.

"Hey! He's not that scary"!

Nashi let out a baby giggle, which made Lucy giggle as well. She leaned down, giving her baby a kiss on her forehead. She then gave Natsu a cheek kiss as well, just to make him stop pouting.
"I just can't wait any longer. The more we sit here, the longer it takes to bring the guild back..".

"I know.. ", she looked down. "I blame myself for making you wait..".
Natsu knew she wanted more time. He put Nashi down in her little playpen,walking over to Lucy and hugging her close. "You are not to be blamed.. I'm just impatient".

She smiled, turning around and looking up at him. "You always were".

"Pfft, not ALWAYS", he exclaimed.
"Oh please, when someone is trying to explains the rules of a game or something you just immediately start running towards danger"!

"I'm determined to win"!
Natsu make his arms pump in the air, showing off his muscles.

Lucy just rolled her eyes.

"You guys are weird", Happy exclaimed. "But so in love"~.

And the day went on with Lucy raging at Happy for always saying something to ruin the moment..

But through the whole day, Natsu kept his best to get Nashi to walk. He even tried holding her hands and balance her on his feet, walking slowly to show her how. But she was just giggling and kicked her feet rather than be taught.
