Results

3 days later...

We were still staying at the hotel and I for one was enjoying it. James took me to go get my car so we could move for efficiently. James took the kids to school and I picked them up. Today was the day we would get our results. I was worried that they would be bad and that I would be trapped with my mother forever. The stress of not knowing was tearing me apart, but I didn't tell James. I didn't want him worried about me.

So today I went to school like any other day. In the 3rd class all hell broke loose. I was sitting with all my friends when Daniel came up in our class mad as hell. She scanned the room and her eyes landed on us. She ran over to us and grabbed Tamera by the shirt. I wasn't going for that. I got up and pushed Daniel off Tamera. She stumbled back and bumped Alex. Alex pushed her back and she bumped Nia. Nia got up and punched her in the face. Tamera ran over to her and started whooping her ass. After she was done Ed came over to her and said "That's why yo weave crusty." The whole class burst out laughing. Even coach, our math teacher. When the principal came in we all got quiet and coach started yelling. The principal fussed at the whole class and took Nia, Daniel, and Tamera with her. Me and everyone else just laughed.

After my last class I tossed my stuff in my car and drove to my house. I didn't get out my car, only pulled up to the mailbox. I stuck my hand in and fished out the letter that had my name on it. I then went to James' house and got his mail. I put both letters in the glove compartment and went to work.

When I walked into work James was already serving someone. He waved and continued to take the order. I walked to the back and got changed into my work uniform. When I came out the locker room James was there Waiting for me. "What they say?" "I didn't open them. I was gonna wait until we got back to the hotel room." He shook his head and went back to work.

After my shift in packed my bag, kissed James goodbye, and left. On my way to go the kids, I got a call from T.A.S.C. "Ma'am could you please come get your children." "I'm on the way." I wondered who did what and why. I really wasn't in the mood for their drama.

I arrived at T.A.S.C. and was immediately pulled by my wrist. "Ma'am you are listed as a emergency contact for Charles, is that correct." "Uh yea. "Well Charles he um had a incident with another boy. He Uh punched the boy in the....face and um ran. Then attempted to run, but he was unsuccessful. The boy jumped on him and punched him over and over again. Then..." I cut her off. "Did anyone try to stop it?" "Yes, Erin did but was unsuccessful." "OK, wher is Charles." She pointed to a office with a little boy in there. "Thank you." I then walked to the office and opened the door. Charles looked up and started crying. I wasn't for all that. "Man, if you keep crying I'm going to call James and he gone curse you out. So I suggest you stop." He stopped crying fast. I wasn't going to call James no way. He would be entirely to angry. I grabbed Charles's arm and took him out to the car. I opened the front door and sat in the front seat with my legs still out the car. "Well Charles, I'm not going to lie to you buddy. James is probably gonna beat you." Charles started crying hard. I pulled him into a hug. He cried on my shoulder. I didn't know what to do, so I just continued to comfort him. After about 5 minutes of him crying, I told him we have to go get paperwork and the others. He nodded and wiped his tears. I grabbed his hand and we walked back in the building. Erin and Kamori were already ready to go. I told Charles to go sit with them while I did the paperwork. When I went into the office the lady was waiting for me. I filled out the work and left out the office. When I walked past the bench, I motioned for them to follow me out. We got to the car and I saw a tear fall from Charles's face.

As we drove to the hotel, the ride was quiet. No one spoke for they knew the close fate of poor Charles. When I parked the car, Charles slowly got out the car. Erin tried to make him feel better. "Charles on the bright side James won't be home till late. Maybe you can go to sleep." Charles strugged and kept walking. We got to the elevator and Charles burst into tears. I told him to stop, it only makes you sick. He wiped his face, you could still see the occasional tear fall. When we walked to door, I heard the TV on. Now I know I didn't leave it on and I'm the last to leave. I unlocked the door and stuck my head in. James was laying in the bed. Dang. Charles hadn't seen him yet. "Hay James, why you back so early." Charles tensed up. "I got a call from T.A.S.C. Anyone care to elaborate?" James raised his eyebrow looking from me to Charles, who was latching on to my leg. I walked him over to our bed and sat with him. I told him everything the lady told me. He looked upset. He called Charles over to him. Charles walked very slowly over to James. Charles knew he was in for it. James doesn't tolerate that kind of behavior from anyone, especially Charles. When Charles was in reach, he grabbed him. He gave him a lecture, then stood. He led Charles to restroom, I knew what was coming next. The door closed and shortly after I heard poor Charles crying. Erin her him and wiggled around like it was her. Kamori just watched TV like nothing was happening. I knew he knew though.

After they were done, I remembered that we had to open those letters. He put Charles in bed and ran over to me. I pulled them out my bag gave him mine. He looked confused. "I don't want to open mine because I wanna be surprised or not disappointed. I opened his first. I read the paper and jumped up and down. He was approved. Now it was time for mine. He opened mine and frowned. My smile disappeared. He gave me a hug and I started crying on his shoulder. He just hugged me tighter and rubber my back.
