"Say cheeeeeese!!!" Kawaii~Chan smiled as as she ran in front of the camera. I've already told Aphmau that I'm fine with her dating Aaron but it probably wasn't too convincing. Kawaii~Chan wanted to take a picture and of course everyone obliged. We all posed as the camera flashed. I looked at Aaron and Aphmau and saw how close they were so I tried to keep a cool face. Well by cool I meant funny. I stuck my tongue out and closed my eyes. My eyes closed partly out of being funny and partly out of sadness.
I stood as the camera flashed.
I smiled as Laurence asked me if I wanted to go to the local maid cafe which was open for the convention.
"Come on man! It'll be great! We can get our minds off Aphmau and have some fun while watching the show!" Laurence said trying to cheer me up. I tucked my hands into my pockets and sighed.
"I'll stay for the food but I'm not in the mood for seeing a show," I shrugged as my best friend sighed back at me.
"Fine. How bout' we meet at the lobby downstairs at 5:00, okay?" Laurence told me.
"I'll be there. Promise," I said as I smiled weakly. We fist bumped and he went out of the room, probably going to the convention.
Quietly I made my way out of the room and into my shared room. Everyone had decided to go out for dinner but me, Lucinda, and Zane. Lucinda said she was having trouble with her outfit. Quite typical for Lucinda. I wasn't in the mood for dinner and Zane just said he was staying here. My brother seemed pretty flustered but didn't give any explanation.
"Hey Garroth~" Lucinda seemed to appear out of nowhere.
"H-Hey Lucinda!" I smiled as I leaned against the wall to talk to Lucinda.
"Why the sad face?" Lucinda asked. I didn't want to completely lie to Lucinda because for all I know she had a truth serum she planned on using on me or something.
"Just a bit sad Aphmau is dating Aaron now. It's not that bad though! I can t-trust Aaron with her! I just want her to be happy," I said as I glanced at the door.
"Oh, Garroth. Just a bit jealous are we?" Lucinda placed her hand on her hip. If I didn't know any better I would think she was hitting on me. Lucinda just has that effect on guys I guess.
"No, not jealous just a bit sad," I said calmly.
"Fine. Just don't come crying to me you lovesick puppy," Lucinda smiled as she waved me off.
It's about 4:00 right now. Staring at a clock is hard when you already know what time it is. I still have an hour before dinner and I don't know how to kill time. I wonder if Zane is still at the convention. Hopefully not picking more fights. Little brother is sometimes bad at taking care of his feelings.
"Sword Fighting Practice" was the sign on the door. Sounds like the place my brother would go especially with that sword he always carries around. As I pushed the door open I could see people of all ages lining up behind practice dummies to take a swing. I noticed that one of the lanes didn't have a line behind it, only the casual frightened cosplayer. I wonder why they seem so startled. Quietly I made my way to the hidden last lane of the dummies. Almost as suspected I saw the back of my little brother skillfully thwacking at the dummy. Poor thing, the dummy not my brother. Well poor little brother too. Probably sad he has to share his best friend. As for the dummy it was almost chopped down to the wooden stick skeleton, stuffing all over the place.
Zane's black hair is messy and he's breathing heavily. Probably tired from destroying the fighting dummy. I slowly made my way to him as he was taking a quick breather.
"Littlebroth--
"WHAT?!" Zane turned to me, tears in his eyes and a hurt expression on his face.
