(That's Sage's room but minus the girl on the bed. That's not Sage. I just couldn't find a clear picture without the girl there)

I wake up to the sound of my cellphone's screaming guitar rift.

I roll over yawning, kicking my Erudite blue sheets off my legs as I pull my phone off charge next to me on the bed. Without opening my eyes I answer it.

"hello.." I groan

"Get your ass up Sage! You have 10 minutes until we take the final test!" My best friend Michael yelled from the other end of the line. It took me a solid second before I could even process what he said. I shot up in my bed looking over at my alarm clock that read '8:50 am', I gasped.

"FUCK" I unintentionally yelled into the phone. Hearing Michael giggle before I hung up and jumped out of bed and pulled on the closest pair of navy blue skinny jeans.

"Goddamn piece of shit alarm clock" I mumbled to myself, pulling on my black leather boots and running out my bedroom door. Grabbing my book bag and tip toeing through the kitchen, trying my best to not get noticed by Martha. My Nana who kinda ended up with me and my dad after he lost his job since we had no where else to go. She's very, very smart. She's easily the smartest woman I know. There's no doubt in my mind she was a born and raised Erudite.

I was almost to the front door when I stepped on the only creaky floor board in the entire apartment and cringed when I did so.

"Slept in again didn't you" I could hear the smile in her voice. I sighed quickly grabbing my worn navy blue leather jacket off a dinning room chair and throwing it on.

"Yes, yes I did all because of that stupid alarm clock. I swear I could built a better one myself" I mumbled causing Nana to laugh.
Nana turned around with a tray full of her famous banana nut muffins.

"Your already late, at least sit down and have a muffin with me before you leave"

"I can't Nana. Today was the day of the big test" I ran around the dining room table and hugged her tight,"I love you but I got to go", I said as I made my way for the door.

"Fine but you better be here in time for dinner" Nana said just before I closed the door.

"I will, I promise" I said slamming the door shut.

I'm already half way down the hall when I hear her yell at the top of her lungs.

"WAIT!"

I nearly trip over my own feet as I dig my heals into the carpet, turning back and racing for the door and swinging it open.

"WHAT! I GOT TO GO!" yelled back. Nana just laughed.

"Catch", she said just before she tossed me one of her muffins.

As soon as it met my palm I took the biggest bite I possibly could and mumbled a muffin muffled "Thank you" as I slammed the door shut once again.

I sprinted down the hall of my seven story apartment building. Jumping down the stair cases one at a time until I finally met the bottom floor. Almost running into a small group of Erudite boys on my way out the front doors.

"Watch it White!" A familiar voice from a boy with brown curly hair and blue blazer called. I looked back and caught a glimpse of Travis Harless.

Travis has made my life a living hell ever since I met him in second grade, when he busted my head on the pavement of the playground. He's just your common asshole who also just so happens to be my neighbor. My luck. I flipped him off and kept running, trying not to think about what he'll do to me later for doing so.
