Chapter One

I wake up super early today, earlier than usual. Finally today's the day. The day I join the team of partners. I get to be with Robin (Grayson just an FYI), Kid Flash, Artemis my cousin, Aqua Lad, Miss Martian, Superboy, and Zatana. All my idols are going to be there. And if you're wondering yes I do train and everything. I train with Green Arrow (my Father), Black Canary (mother), and finally Artemis.

"Serena, breakfast is ready," I hear mom yell up the stairs.

"Be there in a minute," I yell back.

I go through my clothing to find something to wear for the day. I found a pair of ripped up skinny jeans, a Nirvana shirt, and my knee high black converse. I didn't worry about my hair because knowing mom she wants to do it for my big day. I leave my room and walk to the dining room. I was greeted with the smell of freshly made waffles with fruit and syrup. I take a seat. The next thing I know is my father ruffles my hair and makes it a bigger mess.

"Do that again and you will go deaf," I threatened playfully.

"And a good morning to you to Rina," Dad said sarcastically.

Mom walks in carrying a plate full of pancakes and sets a plate down for everyone.

"Good morning, Rina," mom greeted me.

"Good morning mum," I greet back.

She took a seat and looked at me.

"So are you ready for today," she asked.

"I was born ready," I respond.

"Well you're going to like the team. They're all good kids," dad said.

"I only know some of them because we went on a mission with them and they're mentors," I said. "Besides I only know Wally, Kaldur, and Rob."

"Good point," dad said in a weird voice while stroking his beard.

Mom and I look at each other and bust up laughing.

"So have you thought of a name yet," mom asked after calming down.

"I was thinking of the name-" I was cut off.

"How about Black Arrow," dad suggested.

"That's Merlin's name," I responded.

"Oh yeah," dad said remembering Malcolm Merlin (arrow if you guys don't know what he's from).

"How about something that says that you have the sonic scream and you know archery," mom suggested.

"Mom, you're a genius," I said out loud. Mom only gave me a confused look but I smiled. "I was saying you're a genius because of something you said. You said that I have the sonic scream. So how about Sonic. No pun intended since I wear a little bit of blue."

I eat my breakfast and head to my room. I grab my suit. I like to leave it where I know I would find it. It was hidden behind a large book shelf in my room. Yeah I like to read a lot. So nobody would expect anything there. Not even my parents know where it is. I take it out from behind the shelf and put it under all the blankets of my bed knowing I still have at least an hour. Or I could put it on now go to Mount Justice and train for a little bit. That's a good idea.

"Hey mom," I yell.

"Yeah," my very very not so much as mother yell back.

"Umm... dad do you think the rest of the league would mind if I went to Mount Justice early to train and everything," I yelled back.

"I don't know. Why do you wanna go since your boyfriend is going to be there," dad said coming upstairs to my bedroom door.

"Okay, look I stopped liking him years ago finding out that we are only meant to be friends," I respond.

"And be meant to be friends he means that he is too afraid to admit that he likes you," dad said teasingly.

I playfully shoved him.

"Even if he did like me do you really think Bat-" mom cut me off.

"Rina do you want to go to Mount Justice or not," mom asked.

"Yes ma'am," I respond.

"Then suit up," mom said. "And as for you," mom shot a look at dad.

I went to my room since I already knew what she was going to say. I take my suit out of the covers and box. Inside revealed a dark blue leather jacket, a black short sleeve crop top, some black leggings with dark blue leather timing, a set of dark goggles, a chocker necklace (like Black Canary's), a grey belt, some combat boots, and finally my quiver filled with arrows and my bow and cross bow. I put everything on and brought an extra outfit for secret identity purposes.

I step outside my room and look at my mom and dad who were already suited up and ready for action. I smirk and put my goggles over my eyes.
