Ugh, great. There's a couple making out in front of my locker. I sigh and make my way to it anyway. "Excuse me." I say, but they don't move. "Uh- excuse me." Geez! "Move." I growl. This time the guy seems to have heard me and shifts her body out of the way, but they don't stop sucking each other's faces. "Disgusting." I grumble, opening my locker.
"Tess?" Oh God. My stomach sinks as I recognize the voice behind the busty blonde... Dawson. Immediately, he throws the girl off of him and leans casually against the lockers. "Good morning." He opens my locker fully and smiles.
"Hi." I mumble. Of course it had to be fucking Dawson.
"What's wrong?" His brow furrows and he truly looks concerned.
"Nothing." I close my locker.
"Hi! I'm Beth!" She holds out her hand to me and I shake it reluctantly. Terrible name. "Nice to meet you!"
"You too..." I fake a smile. Thankfully, the bell rings. "Well, I better get to class." I make my escape and rush, but a hand grabs my shoulder before I can get too far.
"What're you doing? We're going to the same class."
"Please don't touch me, you probably have-" I stop myself when he looks into my eyes.
"Did you not hear my question?" He laughs and puts his arm around my shoulders. Yes, but you obviously didn't hear my answer. "It can get kind of loud in the halls."
"You seemed busy, so I was leaving you to it."
"You can interrupt me any time." He says, opening the classroom door for us. I casually shrug off his arm and take my seat... next to him.
"Any time?"
"Yeah." He takes my phone out of my back pocket and takes my hand, using my thumb to unlock it. "Thanks." He smiles sweetly and within seconds he returns it to me. Oh...
"Oh." Is all I can manage to say. He gave me his number. "Are you sure?"
"Of course." What do I say to this? Why the hell is he giving me his number? He obviously has someone already. We literally just met yesterday. I don't even have Grayson's number yet.
"So you're expecting me to text first." I say sarcastically. Sarcasm is my main defense mechanism... Thanks sarcasm for saving my ass again.
"Huh? Oh, well I guess you don't have to. Here." He takes my phone again, but this time he puts my number in his phone and then returns it to me. "There. I'll text you first."
"Phones away, Dawson." Mr. Austin growls. "Tess, since you came in at the middle of the chapter, you'll just pick it up once we've reached the next chapter." YES! I nod and smile.

"Well, well, well. You got off easy." Dawson says as we exit first period.
"Well I don't see it that way, but okay."
"What?! This is the hardest chapter and you get to-" the busty blonde- er- Beth attacks him with a kiss. For some reason, I can't look away. Maybe it's that he isn't actually kissing her back.
"What's wrong, buttercup?" She asks sweetly.
"I was in the middle of a conversation." Suddenly, Grayson catches my attention with his adorable smile and I send a frantic 'help' look towards him.
"That's alright," I interject. "Here's Grayson. We should be getting to class. See you later!" I flash them, well Dawson, a sweet smile and disappear into the crowd with Grayson.
"Hey!" He greets me cheerfully. "You alright?"
"Yeah, I was just..." How do I explain this?
"Avoiding their fight?"
"I didn't say fight... I mean they probably weren't even going to-"
"They fight all the time."
"Anyway..." Why the hell are they together then? "Good morning!" I say, starting our conversation over.
"Good morning." We take our seats next to one another in the back of class. He asked if I could sit by him yesterday and the teacher was more than happy to accommodate. Grayson seems to have a certain charm that gets him what ever he wants. He definitely used that on dad... I'll have to be wary of that. "Did you hear what I said?"
"Huh? Oh, no, sorry. I guess I spaced out. What did you say?"
"It looks like movie day." He smiles widely at me. "You moved here at a great time."
"How are you liking it here so far?" Mrs. Clark asks while placing a video worksheet in front of me.
"I think I like it." I glance at Grayson to see him smiling at the table and I can't help but smile as well.
