he was out to dinner with the boys having fun for once.

"taylor man, what the freak are you doing?" he said laughing and posting some funny shit on snapchat.

their food came and they all started to eat.

his phone was resting on the table. it started to buzz. he picked it up, looking at the caller id. it was an unknown number.

usually he wouldn't pick up random numbers, but something told him he should.

"hello?"

"cameron" a voice cried into the phone. she sounded distraught and her voice was cracking.

"baby, what happened?" he shoved all his thoughts from their last conversation in the back of his head, and focused on finding out what was wrong.

he quickly and quietly excused himself from the table and went outside.

"i-i" she was crying hard.

"take a deep breath baby, what happened?" he said calmly, his soft voice soothing her.

"i got arrested." she said.

"you what? how?"

"i was out with jacob and sasha,"

names he had never heard before

"and we were smoking weed while driving and the cops pulled us over and the car was stolen" she cried into the phone. "i could only have one call, and your number is the only one I remembered"

"oh my god." he was starting to get angry. "what is wrong with you? you're acting so unlike yourself, you never go out and smoke and do crazy things that can get you arrested!" he shouted this time. "what happened to my baby girl who would just cuddle on the couch and watch Netflix?"

it was silent on the other end.

"you should have never left cameron." she said sternly.

did she expect him to give up his dreams just for her?

"what the fuck do you want me to do," he said trying to stay calm, "i'm halfway across the country."

"just call my sister or sarah to pick me up please." she said softly.

"fine," he was going to hang up but that wasn't the right way to end a conversation.

"stay safe."
