"Oh, please Vastra," Jenny says calmly on the hospital bed, "You'll be fine. You've made it so far without me, you won't need me anymore. Go find someone else, please." Jenny smiles at Vastra, but Vastra stands still next to Jenny, afraid of her lonely future.

Vastra examines Jenny's once beautiful face, tears gathering in her waterline. Jenny will always be beautiful to Vastra, that will never change. Now, however, Jenny is covered in wrinkles, something Vastra could have never imagine her with in her youth.

Jenny just turned eighty-six two months ago, and that was it for her. She couldn't stand the pain any longer. Vastra had tried everything to keep her partner alive, and it worked. Until now.

She didn't know what she would do with her life. The lifespan of a sontaran wasn't very long, so she had lost Strax a few years ago. She was going to be completely alone in twenty-four hours.

Not just alone, but without Jenny.

Life without Jenny sounded unbearable. A tear slips down her cheek, getting caught on her veil. She longed to take it off, but the doctor was still in the room.

"Could we have a moment, please?" She asks the doctor, not taking her eyes off Jenny.

"There we go, let me see that beautiful face one last time." Jenny smiled slowly as Vastra lifted the veil off her head, finally able to see clearly.

Jenny placed her hand on Vastra's cheek, felling the soft yet rough scales. She slowly took in the feeling, wanting it to be one of the last things she felt.

"I love you so much, miss." Jenny coos. This makes more tears slide down Vastra's cheek, each one finding its way between the cracks between her scales. "I'm surprised you stayed with me this long."

"Oh, Jenny. Don't say such things. You know I love you as well, you silly ape." Vastra jokes, making Jenny giggle.

"Please, love, find someone to love you as much as I did. I don't want to go feeling bad that you wasted the rest of your life mourning me." Vastra looks down at Jenny's frail hand and grabs it in her own. "You have so long to go, and I know there's someone out there for you."

That is true, Vastra didn't want Jenny to die feeling bad that Vastra would waste her life on just one human.

"Do you remember that time," Jenny starts, her voice getting weaker, "With you, me, Strax, the Doctor, and Clara," Jenny stops to cough, "and there was that dinosaur."

"Yes, yes, my love," Vastra says, pushing Jenny to stay awake. This has happened multiple times, Jenny fading in and out of consciousness. This time, Vastra knows it will be the last.

"And the Doctor was mad..." Jenny stops. Her grip in Vastra's hand weakens. Vastra can feel her skin loosing it's warmth.

"Please," Vastra urges. Jenny looks into Vastra's eyes right before her eyelids slowly start to shut. "No," Vastra exclaims as the monitor flatlines. She slowly slips her veil back on, hiding her hideous face from the doctors yet to come into the room. She pulls her hand away from Jenny's tiny hand and turns. The doctors start flooding in, and she avoids talking to them. She quietly slides out the door, and into the hallway, surrounded by stupid apes and monkeys. Nobody would ever get used to Vastra's looks. She's not even sure Jenny ever got used to her looks, but no one would understand like Jenny did.

Jenny, she thinks, oh, Jenny. If only I could go back in time to the moments we were cross at each other, and just apologize. It hasn't even been a minute, and I miss you so.

Tears fall from Vastra's eyes, hitting the course fabric of the veil, then falling into her dress.

No, this is not a Silurian thing to do. Stop pitying yourself. She scolds, your just as bad as the apes.

She continues to walk down the cold hall, trying not to grieve any longer. She has thousand of years to live, why not start now?

Two Years Later

"Oh dear, what is this nonsense?" The female ape next to Vastra mutters, flipping the pages of the newspaper. Vastra is taken back, but decides not to ignore it. She hasn't had a real conversation with anyone since... Well, Jenny.

"I know, sometimes people can be so dull." She looks at the girl reading the newspaper through her veil. The girl looks up at her and giggles.

"That's a very nice veil," the girl comments, "I hope you don't mind my asking, but why are you wearing it?"

"Ahh, that's a good question," Vastra replies, closely examining the girls features.

She has beautiful pale eyes and plump lips, like Jenny's...

No, you're doing it again. She rolls her eyes at herself, hoping the girl doesn't notice.

"Hm. Maybe I'll find out soon. We should go for tea sometime, eh?" The girl asks.

Was Vastra flirting with her? She didn't think the was. It's hard to find a female that likes other females in Victorian London. What the heck, may as well go for it. Get your mind off Jenny.

My submission to Fanfic 's OTP contest. It's really short, but I wanted to participate in it. I hope you like it. I know it's nothing related to the walking dead😆

I was going to do Richonne, but we don't really know much about them, and Jastra was my next favorite couple.

I always think about how Jenny is eventually going pass away, but I didn't know how Vastra would deal with it, so here you go, in case you were wondering too.
