Take a deep breath Belle and start at the beginning. Wait, Tell them how we first met. Back at them mountains. I've already told them that. Tell them that ever since we shared our dreams...Even Ali's weirdest ones, we kinda just got along.
"I had a dream last night."
We're sitting underneath each other, talking parallel.
"You know a rowing boat? That little curvy bit the oar sits in?"
"It's called a rollock by the way." I yell.
"A what?"
"Rollock, like "bollock" with an "R."
"That was me. I was that thing."
We're both laughing, it's weird because it's not really that funny but because she's said it I want to laugh along with her anyways. Her laughing's dying and she's lying on her back looking back up at me.
"How do I go about seducing men who may apparently be out of my league?"
I couldn't care less to be honest, but I don't say that aloud, she's from above, not below! Why would she think of me as anything more? I reply nonetheless.
"Is that a serious question?"
"Yeah, absolutely."
"Mmm, well, you're at a disadvantage being an Ali and all..."
"No, no, no, all right?"
"We can work with that." I tease her. "First you have to be cool. Ignore him. Act like you could take it or leave it."
"You see that. I've had practice at. Hmm."
"Uh, and secondly, you have to make him feel like you've seen something in him no one else has. Like his soul..."
"While also ignoring him?"
"Yepp."
The conversation continues, but I don't listen, I just watch the way her mouth moves, the way her expressions change and the way she waves her hands around widely emphasising on what she's saying. It took a while but I've finally grown used to her talking about the attractiveness of the opposite gender. Looking at her ramble passionately about the things she's into makes me hope...deep down one day, it will be me.
Obviously, it wouldn't work out but I can't help think about what could happen if we were allowed. I think too hard but we could tie ourselves down and use midgravity in the middle, there's no knowing she'll even want that, not as much as I would anyways.
