Stefan couldn't believe this was happening. He felt his head spin a bit and he scrubbed his hand over his face trying to keep himself from thinking of the fresh memory of the sight of Cody sucking Brick to completion in the kitchen.

He thought of grabbing his bag and heading home but it was so late and he didn't want to drive drunk. He groaned silently and tried to focus.

That was when there was a soft knock at the door. Turning around he jumped and tried not to panic. Not knowing what to do, he just stayed quiet.

"Stefan..." Brick's voice was tense on the other side of the door.

Stefan takes a deep breath and pulls himself up and takes hold of the knob and opens the door most of the way and... can't seem to look Brick in the eye. "Uh. I-I'm sorry for..." His sentence died out when his mind couldn't even come up with the words to describe the moment he had witnessed.

Brick's voice was still tense as he shifted his weight in the doorway. "Stefan, I'm the one that should be apologizing. Cody get's a little playful when he's buzzing. I should have expected it. I'm sorry."

Stefan blushed deeply and scratched the back of his neck as he shrugged. "No I shouldn't have ... well... you know... watched." He felt like his face was on fire. "I hope Cody isn't pissed at me. " Stefan peeked up at Brick through his bangs. "You guys make sense together."

That was when he saw something he'd never seen before. Brick's olive skin blushed over his cheeks. "Stefan, it's ... it's complicated. "

"I won't tell anyone. I promise." Stefan wanted them to know that he would never out them.

"That's not what I meant." Brick sighed and ran his fingers through his freshly washed hair. He smelled like sandalwood and musk with fresh clean soap . Groaning he shook his head. "This is a conversation that would be better had in the morning when I'm sober. But ..."

Stefan arched a brow and felt confused. "What do you mean?"

Brick shook his head again. "Cody and I... We've tried... We've tried to be together before. Plenty of times. It doesn't work because we are both tops. We are just too competitive with each other. We work as friends. Best friends. But... Well... when we try to be together for real we just end up fighting all the time." Stefan watches in shock as Brick frowns and there is real sadness hidden behind a stoic look. "We... the only time we work in a relationship is when we don't have one... We still fool around sometimes but... a relationship seems to be out of our grasp."

Stefan felt a spark of sadness bloom in sympathy for Brick and Cody. Anyone that understood them and spent time with them could see they care deeply fore eachother. Stefan could see love glowing in Brick's eyes but he also saw old wounds that still lay open.

"I... I'm sorry Brick." Stefan had his arms wrapped around himself and was a little hunched into himself as he felt like he wanted to reach out and try to comfort Brick.

Shaking his head he sighed and scrubbed his hand over his stubble. "It's nothing you need to apologize for Stefan. I just wanted to make sure you weren't freaked out about what you saw."

Stefan felt his blush renew and heat up again. "Just embarrassed beyond recognition." Stefan couldn't help but remember the way Brick had looked up as he came and had cried out in shock Stefan's name in a strangled moan.

Brick chuckled and shook his head slowly. "I think we are all in the same boat with that one. Like I said... it's complicated." Brick's voice was quiet as he looked down at Stefan.

Nodding as thoughts of Dane came to mind at he word Complicated. "Yeah. I can get that."

"I'm sure that the morning will be entertaining once Cody remembers it. He's pretty much passed out in his room." Brick smirked slightly. "It's going to be fun watching him apologize to you in the morning."

Stefan couldn't help but chuckle as he still blushed. "Yeah well... That sounds like... fun?"

With a soft chuckle Brick nodded. "Good night Stefan."

"Night Brick." Stefan murmured as he watched a very shirtless Brick amble down the hall.

Stumbling over to bed he fell across it and let out a frustrated sigh as he tried to command his brain not to replay the scene. "Don't do it. Don't think about it."

Yeah right. Like that ever works.
