Chapter 5

"So how do you know Casey? Explain in detail please Mrs. Burnett"

"It's Ms. Burnett, I said coldly. I really hated when people mixed up surnames. I know sometimes people don't realize they're making a mistake but, it's still irks me.

"My apologies, Ah, Ms. Burnett. Anyways, Answer the question please."

I've already told four FBI agents my story. I don't understand why I have to keep repeating myself.

"He is my ex. He left me when I was pregnant. He came back into my life. Then he kidnapped my baby. Listen I've told you guys this already. Why do I have to keep repeating myself?"

"Just to make sure we get the story right Ms. Burnett. We don't want any mistakes when it comes to the truth."

"Oh. My. God. You don't believe me do you? You idiots really think I'm lying about this."

"We never said that, we just want to get the story straight."

"HOW STRAIGHT DO YOU F*CKING WANT IT? IM TELLING THE TRUTH" I yelled.

Why would I lie about my own child? That's so f*cked up. I swear to God if they don't find my child I will go after Casey myself. I know he wont do anything to me. He probably wants money or something. 

"Okay, I think that's all that i need. You can go home. We'll call you if anything comes up."

I thanked him and then I walked out of the police station. I felt so lost without Cierra. I didn't know what to do with myself. I spent the rest of the night worrying and worrying about her. What if he hurts her? What if she doesn't get enough to eat? Casey doesn't even know she had cancer. She needs her medication. I really need to get in touch with Casey. I'm was not waiting for the police to find my baby.

"Hello?" i said as i groggily picked up the phone

"Yes, Ms. Burnett, can you come down to the police station? We need to talk to you."

"Okay."

I hung up the phone and quickly got dressed. I got no sleep last night. All I kept thinking about is what CiCi was doing. I miss her like crazy.

"Have a seat" the police officer said

"Is there any new leads??" I asked impatiently.

"Not quite. Ms. Burnett we've searched every hospital and we searched through the records at the daycare. We cant find any record of your daughter. Are you sure you have a  daughter? Maybe you were dreaming, or it wasn't really your child?"

"ARE YOU KIDDING? YES I HAVE A CHILD. CIERRA BURNETT. She's real. Why would I make that up? Have you talked to Mrs. Reisman?? Shes the day care coordinator. Shes been taking care of my baby since she was a year old."

"Uh yes we did, she said she has never seen or heard of Cierra"

What? Just yesterday she was helping me locate Cierra. Now shes claiming she doesn't know her? Somethings definitely not adding up. 

"I'm telling the truth!"

"We believe you bu-"

"OBVIOUSLY YOU DONT." i said coldly

"We're admitting you to a hospital for testing Ms. Burnett. You need help"

"I DONT NEED HELP I NEED YOU TO FIND MY BABY, I said as I got up and threw the chair. I have an anger management problem.

Two police officers came in and cuffed me. I knew then that nobody was on my side. And there was no way to prove myself. I knew I was in big trouble.

Cierra's Pov

Where is mommy's friend taking me? We've bee driving for a long time, and I really have to pee. I would tell him, but he told me not to talk or i wont be able to call my mommy. I really miss her. 

We pulled up to a small house. I recognize this place, but I don't know what it is just yet. All of a sudden a woman comes out of the front door with a small bag. She also looks very familiar. She gets in the car and turns her head to the backseat to look at me. It was then that I realized who she was.

It was mommy's friend. Lindsay. 

"Hey sweetie, you'll talk to mommy really soon. But, shes very busy right now and she wanted us to take care of you. Don't worry, it'll be okay" She said

I wanted to believe Lindsay. But for some reason I didn't. I have a feeling mommy doesn't know I'm here.
