Jason's POV:
I punched him. I punched him over and over and over again. He fell to the floor and I straddled his chest and I punched him one last time. I stood up to see my handiwork. He had a broken nose, a bruised eye and a split lip. Someone helped him stand up. He wiped his lip and it came away crimson. I walked up closer to him. He flinched away from me. I got up real close to face and said in a low, quiet voice, "If you go near him again, I'll pick up where I left off." I stepped back and someone led him off to the school nurse. When he'd left the room, everyone started cheering. I smiled and looked over at Alec. He had a baffled look on his face, but a smile still shone on his face. He was rubbing a piece of paper between his long, pale fingers. When he looked at me then, the pain of my bruised knuckles went away and a warm, fuzzy, floaty feeling spread through my body. I walked back over to him and sat down.
"Wow," were the first words out of his mouth, "seriously, wow. Thanks for standing up for me, you didn't have to;"
"No, I wanted to." I said, smiling. "Hey, uh, Alec, what's that in your hand?" He stopped twirling it between his fingers and held it fast. He let out a small laugh.
"Ah, um, this is, ah, ok, it's my number and my social media usernames." He offered me the slip of paper and I gently took it. He smiled a small smile. I smiled back. Suddenly a thought popped into my head. I fished a small slip of paper out of my pocket, grabbed my pen and quickly scribbled down my contact information. I smiled again and handed it to Alec. He took it and stowed it away in his pocket. Then the bell rang, ruining everything. We stood up and before I departed for English, I turned and said to Alec, "So, talk later. See ya' Alec." He nodded and said to me, "See ya' Jason." We smiled one more time and went our separate ways.
I couldn't stop smiling for the rest of the day.
