"She said that all day, which wasn't that annoying, I mean nothin' against her...." I guess Tony couldn't wait till we were off the bus so I could somewhat hear her. You would think we were at the mall on Black Friday. She tended to ramble about gossip she had heard about, but I pretended to listen as we came to a stop at the third street: St. Garrick.

The bus skidded to a halt and a couple students ran down the aisle with bookbags flying around their heads. We haven't fully stopped yet, and already they fly out the double doors. I walked into breezy air and Tony stepped along beside me as the bus left. She shivered, then pulled out a jacket, covering herself up.

"Should we go shopping, or walk home to my house? 'Cause I am, indeed, in need for a shopping spree."

"Well, I guess. Did you want to meet with Jack, too? Or will it be just you and me?"

Jack preferred staying home and playing Halo 5 on his Xbox, but in the end we always won when it came to convincing him. That, or we take away all his games, hide them, and tell him what we want. So, fortunately for us, either way he loses.

" Well, maybe we could meet up later, say...seven o'clock? Think he said he had to spend time with his grandmother." She rolled eyes and did a finger to the mouth gesture. I giggled, securing my bag over my shoulder and checking my wrist-watch. We had about three hours. "We've got three hours. What do you want to do in the mean time?" I smiled, " Netflix and Chill shall we, eh?"

" Funny. You know me too well for my liking, stalker!" She did a mockery, suspicious tone and took a few steps away.

"Who would want to stalk you? The pizza loving, red-head girl who can bite off putty in a window."
She looked a little baffled at the last part, but I found it amusing.

"Anyways....do you remember that professor with the wicked smile?" I frowned a bit, wondering what made her think of him.

"Of course! How could I forget the guy who gave me the stink eye when we've only met for...what, 10 seconds?"

"Hm. I agree, that was odd. Maybe he was tired. Traveling to different schools all over the state-or country- and all."

"Still don't see why he had to put it on me." I uttered. I had only wanted some information on the program, he should be happy to have someone wanting to join. With all that talk of, needing interns, you would have thought he jumped at the chance of having someone to work for that organization.

"Well, anyway, my parents thought it would be fun to sign me up for that stupid iRed thing. Said the work experience could help college admissions. I say it's a load of bull."

"You're parents have a good point. Special programs, internships are crucial to have. Especially starting in high school. You'll have even more experience."

"I just don't want it to get in the way of my high school experience. I mean who would want to write a biography about the special days of discovering something new: genetic engineering. Picture that as a book cover, Sloane."

"You're probably right. Though, you could still have your fun, memorable high school days. Going out to parties, sneaking out, basically no regrets, right? You just have to balance it out."

"Saying it is harder than doing it." She stared at me with a look of worry. She can't expect everything to be easy. Eventually, we'll all have to grow up since we're not going to be in high school forever.

It sucks, knowing that we'll most likely be growing apart as the year ends. Different colleges, different people, different relationships, different jobs. A different world. That scares me the most.

"Sloane, look! Lets go to the GAP, I have some buisness to tend to at that wretched place."
