When The Tension Breaks

                 Tension was wavy.

Mr. MCcall seemed like a sketchy character when he threw a random recruiting speech at all the Seniors in our gym. He looked nervous for a second, then a look of calm and seriousness filled his face. His posture fixed with confidence; shoulders back, and arms at his side. Though, there was one thing he couldn't brush away. And that was his tension.

That vain that struck his temple was the hint. It bulged and held sweat, when he approached us, that's all I could see and feel. I was nervous and a little confused as to why this guy we only saw once is talking to us in a store parking lot.

"Hello, ladies." His voice was very smooth, almost sounded monotoned.

"Er...Sorry? You seem familiar, it slipped my head." Tony was never the one to remember anything. Only, where she put a half finished jar of Nutella, and her scratched phone. Since she pointed him out to me like two seconds ago, I know she knows who he is. What game was she playing?

"Mr.McCall, it's nice to see you again." I was reluctant about speaking to Mr. McCall. I couldn't be blamed, it was a weird approach he took on us. I wondered if he even knows who we are, or did he just walk up to girls and greet them with a creepy smile?

"Ladies, I apologise for intruding on your evening. I believe I recognise you...Ah! Yes, from the assembly. Correct?" He looked nervous, like he needed to be somewhere but didn't have the time. His eyes scanned the parking lot while fiddling with his thumbs, a wary look.

"Pardon? Are you a teacher or something?" Tony asked.

"No, well... I can't say i'm shocked you don't remember me."

She snapped her fingers."Oh! The Assembly guy! Right."

"Yes, I spoke about the new elective program at your school. I assume you are interested about it, young lady," he turned to me, "as you've asked me before."

"Yes."

There was an awkward silence after. I guess he expected some desperate begging, which wasn't going to happen. I needed to consider this first. I wanted to ask why he stared at me like I was a jackass.

But, I really didn't want to bother with it.

"We should go-"

"I never got the chance to inform you and your peers about our meeting. Hopefully you and your friend here will attend it and consider joining us? Perhaps..." He dazed off. Tony and I shared an annoyed look and we knew this was getting weird.

"Mr. McCall, it was a...pleasure running into you. But, uh, we need to go. It's getting late."

"I see..."

"Could we maybe schedule a meeting sometime soon?" Tony blurted. "I'd really like to see the place for myself. And judge if it's cool or flaky."

"No!" I shook my head. "We are way to busy for that kind of thing, sorry Mr. McCall-" she elbowed me.

"We aren't busy." she smiled.

"Perfect! I should contact the school and set up a meeting with your parents." he pulled out a small, dingy notebook and started writing.

As soon as he walked away, I went ballistic.

"What was that? Why would you set a random meeting with some creepy guy we only saw for like ten minutes?!" I believed she had lost her mind for a moment.

"You'll see. I have a plan for the both of us." she smirked. "You'll see."
