While Skylar had her own problems as a hero, she also had her problems as a normal teenager.
Her teachers decided to overload her with work, the kids decided to put as much pressure as they could on her, and her small group of friends became even smaller. Her mother became more distant. While her mother worked to an extend, she was out saving the town.
Every morning she'd wake up completely exhausted. Her powers had made her weaker. Skylar had to have at least one cup of coffee and toast during the day and sometimes at night.
Though she's a protector, she is still human. She had had her share of scars and scrapes from her 'job'. While some see it as a gift, she saw it as a curse. All the powers did was make her weaker as a human.
Her father still supplied weapons to help her. He even helped her with bodily damage. Her job wasn't only yo protect her town, but to also protect herself.
One of those jobs, she couldn't handle.
