Trapped

Part 1

Friendships start with greeting someone, but for Lilly it's hard for her to do that. Lilly is very shy and really only has one best friend who's in her class but she suspects that after high school they'll break apart and never talk again, just like all her old friends. Oh my, I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself. Well, hello my name is Jane, and well I'm Lilly's older sister. She doesn't like that I'm only a grade ahead of her, she's a junior. I try to help her get dates for dances and a friend to hang out with but she never lets me. She only has one friend and thats all she wants. But as her older, loving, and caring sister I want her to make many friends to hang out with. I want her to be like me. But she won't because she's a nerd, she reads all day, does her homework on time, and plays video games in her free time. Yet I'm the girl who loves to party, do homework late, skip school, and do anything but school. Lilly doesn't understand how to have fun, but overtime I talk about it out loud mom says, everyone has their own type of fun.

When I woke up this morning Lilly was already downstairs making breakfast, because she's such an early bird. So I got out of my bed, I went to the bathroom to brush my kind of long blond hair. I'm hoping today that I can actually skip school, like everyday, but actually skip with someone fun. Here's the funny thing, I don't care if get held back, as long as I graduate sometime I'm good, but I am aware I might have to be in a class with my sister but they I can help her with her social life. After brushing my hair and teeth I walk back to my room, I decided not to wear make up because I wanna see the world how Lilly sees it without make up. Everyone says make up is the way to go except for Lilly, she says that looks don't matter and that you don't need a hot guy or money to be happy. Which I totally disagree with. I mean who wouldn't want to take a hot date to homecoming. Maybe I can find her a hot date.

"Mom, can you please tell Jane to stop trying to set me up with all these different boys and to stop trying to get me friends? I'm fine with my one friend." Lilly says while sitting at the table eating breakfast with little Joey, mom, and I, dad had to go on a business trip so we won't see him for a week or so.

" Mommy! Can I have some more pancakes?" Joey ask mom for the third time this morning. Then Lilly looks at her phone, this is the first morning she's ever gotten a text during breakfast unlike me because everyone loves talking to me. "Hey mom, Aydan and I are going to go to the mall after school if that's okay with you." Then I stand up, "FINALLY! You're actually getting out of the house for once and not reading books!" Then mom yells at me, of course, " JANE! Maybe you should be more like your sister and read books more instead of texting all day and always away from home." I just shake my head, " No thanks that's way to boring for me." My mom wants me to be super smart and athletic but I am neither of those. Like really, after high school, I'm not going to collage until I really know what I wanna do with my life.

Lilly has finally gone up to her room, finally I can eat in peace. But maybe my mom is right. Maybe I should be more like Lilly, but then I remember, everyone is different. Maybe I'll actually listen in school soon to make my mom proud but for now no thanks. If I act like Lilly I wouldn't have any friends. WAIT! Lilly has been acting a bit different, I feel like she's hiding something. But I just can't figure out what it is. Maybe I should ask her, well nows probably not a good time to ask but maybe later. I look at my breakfast and then Joey, "Hey Joey? Do you want a new toy?" Joey looks at Mom, "Is dis a trap?" Mom looks at Jane, "I don't know sweetie, sorry." Joey then shakes his head at me. Then Joey looks at me, "Jane, I wanna play tag!" I just look at him, "No kid, just eat breakfast." Then he throws his normal tantrum, "BUT I WANNA PLAY TAG!!" Mom gives me a look that makes me assume I should just do it to make him happy. "Ugh, okay fine Joey!" The he starts to giggle and then he stands up, "You're it!" I start to think about it, maybe I will buy him a toy but I won't give it to him till he tells me whats going on with Lilly. I run over and pick up Joey. He starts to laugh, "hehe this is fun." I laugh, "Okay what kind of toy do you want for being such a good brother?" He looks at me with HUGE eyes, "A STAR WARS ACTION TOY!" OH GOSH, I'm going to need help from someone to find this.
