Trapped

Chapter 2 *Lilly's point of view*

 Like every morning I have to eat breakfast with my family. I'd rather just eat in my room and read. Oh my gosh, Jane always has to try to set me up with people, I can fend for myself. "Mom, I'm going to drive to school early, I have to meet someone there." I tell her and then she just nods. I run upstairs and put my shoes on and grab my backpack. All of the sudden Jane runs into my room, "Hey favorite sister, can I get a ride to school?" I just look at her, "Of course, not! Why should I give you a ride, you always make fun of me." I look down at my outfit, I'm wearing a blue dress, then I look at Jane, she's still wearing her pajamas. "Jane you're not even ready yet!" She just smiles, "I know, I can change quickly. The real question is why are you dressed so nicely today? Trying to impress someone?" I decide to not answer her and I leave the room ignoring her. I run down the stairs, but the truth is I am trying to impress a guy but she doesn't know who he is, which helps, a lot. His name is James, he's very shy but we've become really good friends since freshman year. I walk into the kitchen and grab my keys, little Joey is still eating breakfast. I go over and hug mom, "Bye mom, I'm going to go to school early to meet with one of my friends." Then she looks at me, "Are you going to meet Aydan at school?" I just shake my head, "Nope. Actually I'm going to meet James at school today." Mom just stares at me and I know she wants to know all about him, "Mom, yes it's a boy. Yes it's why I'm dressed so nice, no I'm not hanging out with him after school. Mom it's just a boy I ,ummm, slightly like. Can I leave now?" She just smiles, "Yes dear. Good luck." I just nod and walk out of the house."

Half way to school I get a text from James, "Hey, I just got to school where are you?" OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!! Okay so I kind of lied to you. I really really really like James. He never really noticed me before, or didn't even know my name. Well, until I joined the 'Book Club' and I found James was in it. He apparently loved to read, just like me, and so we exchanged phone numbers, and now I guess we are friends? I don't know if he likes me but I don't want Jane to know I like him. If Jane found out she'd be all over this and she'd try to get us to go on dates and stuff and like, I don't want that.

Once I got to school I parked next to James, he's leaning against his car waiting for me. I get out of the car and he walks over, "Hey Lilly," then he hugs me, "How was your morning?" Well that hug just made my morning amazing but, "Jane was being annoying like always, but my drive here was great and seeing you is always great." He smiles, "That's good. I'm glad to hear I make you happy." I smile than grab my backpack out of my car, he does the same and then we look at each other. I smile, "Where shall we talk? The hall, the library, gym, football field? Where?" He just laughs, "You'll see. Come on." He puts his hand out and I grab it. OH MY GOSH! James and I are holding hands I never thought this would happen. "Do you trust me?" I nod. "Okay than cover your eyes till we get there, I want it to be a surprise." As we're walking I try thinking of all the places near the school we could go. After about eight minutes of walking we finally stop. "Okay Lilly, open your eyes." Once I take my hand off my eyes, still holding his hand, I look. "Oh my gosh! James, this is the best thing ever. I used to come to this park every day after school to read." I hug him then look him in the eyes, "This is the best gift anyone could ever give me. Thanks James. How did you know I loved this place?" He looks at me and kisses me on the head, "Because when I was younger I used to come here and read too." We both just stop and laugh. So far this has been a great day. I don't think it could get any better than being with my crush.

After sitting at a picnic table for ten minutes we decide to stand up and walk around before heading back to school. "Okay Lilly, so you know Carson, my brother right?" I nod, "Well your sister has a huge crush on him and he only wants to be friends so sometimes I have to pretend I'm his girlfriend when she calls so she'll leave us alone." I start laughing, I think my sister would kill him if she found out. I see someone sitting at a picnic table all alone, the person looks hungry and looks like they don't have anywhere to go. "Hey James, I'll be right back." he nods than sits down next to a tree. I walk over and sit across from the person. 'Hello." She looks up. "Um.. Hello." I pull out a granola bar and handed it to her, "Hello, my name is Lilly." she smiles, "Thanks Lilly. Umm, my name is... Sofia. I think." She looks behind me at James and smiles, "So who's he? Why are you guys here together?" I smile, "OH! Thats James and I don't know why we're here, this was a surprise for me." She nods than opens the granola bar. I look at her and start to think, "Hey Sofia," she looks up, "do you have a house to stay at tonight?" She just shakes her head. "Would you want to stay at my house for awhile?" She smiles, "But you just met me are you sure you want to do that?" I smile back, "You're a very sweet person, I think I can trust you."

School starts in fifteen minutes, so James and I say goodbye to Sofia and start to walk back to school. On the way back James and I are holding hands. This whole relationship stuff is new to me but I think I can handle it, as long as I don't take advice from Jane. I know she's had like fifty different boyfriends but most we're just to become popular. But that never end up happening. Once we get to school James looks at me, "See you later!" We hug and go our separate ways. Then Aydan runs up and jumps on my back like a wild animal, "Oh my god, were you just hanging out with James?!" I laugh and turn around while still walking, "Haha, yeah surprisingly. Awhile ago we planned on hanging out to get to know each other." She run past me so I turn back around and catch up than she says, "Why didn't you tell me about this?!" I stop and look at her, "Because if I told anyone Jane would know something was different, and you know how she is with this kind of stuff. It's getting ridiculous, I have my life, she has hers." Aydan nod, "Now I don't blame you for not telling me. BUT OH MY GOSH! You're dating one of the coolest kids in our grade!" I just start to laugh, "Aydan, we're not dating, we're just friends." She stops running then I accidentally bump into her, "How are you two not dating? I saw you two holding hands! AND YOU GUYS ARE SO CUTE TOGETHER!" I look at Aydan like I'm from a different planet, "Dude quiet down! Not everyone needs to know. How are we cute together? He's not really like me, I mean yes we're both in book club and..." Then Aydan stops me, "Dude he likes reading books too and I see the way he looks at you during class. I mean come on, how are you two not meant to be?" I just laugh and open the doors for us, "He'll never like me so just get used to us being friends."

During homeroom we can sit wherever, which is great. I see an open seat next to Aydan but I also see an open one next to James. Wait since when has he been in our homeroom? Maybe he just changed, who knows. Aydan runs up to me "Oh my gosh, when was James in our homeroom?" I just shake my head, "I don't know but I'll be right back." Aydan walks back to her desk as I walk to go sit next to James. Once I get to the desk I sit down and look down at the desk, "Hey Lilly," he says "so about earlier? We were holding hands and seemed so happy together." I look up at him, "Yeah and wait since when were you in our homeroom?" He just smiles, "Since today, so I can see my girl more often." Oh my gosh did he just call me his girl? Do I like that he called me that? Oh gosh what is going on today?
