Chapter 2

Demi's POV

"Nick are you ready to go pick up destiny!" I have been yelling at Nick to hurry up for the past 5 minutes. "NICK!" Still no response. I go upstairs to see whats going on, and he's in the bed room lying down.

"I don't want to go through with this anymore." Nick said with an attitude. "She's a distraction, you don't need a daughter. You have me."

" Nick honestly? Im just going to pretend that you didn't say that. Even though I just met Destiny I feel like she would be a great addition to our life." Nick didn't respond. It's like I was talking to a wall. "I'm going to go pick her up, maybe you will grow to like her... she's a sweet girl. I promise." I walk over to Nick and give him a kiss on the cheek. "I love you."

I'm on my way to the Foster Home. I decide to call Marisa and let her in on the news. "Hey babe, whats up." she says.

" I have to tell you something." Marisa didn't say anything so I continued. "Im on my way, to a Foster Home.. to pick up a child, that i fell in love with yesterday."

Marisa squeals. "OMG Demi! Thats so cute! Whats her name?"

"Destiny. She has Light brown curly hair, and a tanned skin complexion. She's perfect!"

"I am so excited to meet her! I will come by later. What does Nick think about this?"

I sigh "Well yesterday he was okay with it, but now he's second guessing. He thinks that she will be a distraction."

" I can saw how he feels, but if he loves you and want to see you happy he will put up with it. Maybe he will grow to love and accept her."

"Yep well I'm almost here so ill call you a bit later to come over."

Destiny's POV

It's 4.. Demi said she would be here at three.. maybe she doesn't want me. No one wants me. "Liz I don't think she's coming." A tear streamed down my face.

"IT'S DEMI FUCKING LOVATO!" she yelled. "She probably had something to do in the morning, plus you know Demi, she wouldn't leave you. I promise."

I give Liz a hug. I continue to pack my things, while keeping the remind that Demi would not forget me at the back of my head. I finally picked up my blades. I looked at them, deciding wether or not to bring them. I walked to the bathroom, and put them down the toilet.

I thought to myself, " I want a fresh start, I don't want to bring a burden on Demi."

I go back into my room and get my things as Liz follows me to the living room while I wait on Demi's arrival.

Moments later there was a knock on the door. It was Demi. She came to me and gave me a hug and kiss on the check.

"Ready to go baby girl?"

"I'm ready." I turn around and Liz was already crying. I gave her a hug and told her it would be alright. Liz is the only thing holding me back, but I'm ready to start a new and improved life. She will be fine after a week.

" Don't worry Liz, you will be fine. I will text you as much as possible. Smile for me."

I went to say bye to everyone I talked to in the home and then me and Demi left.

When we got in the car I noticed Nick wasn't there. " Wheres Nick?" I ask

"Hes- um... he wanted to stay home and get some more rest... but thats not important. Do u wanna maybe watch a movie later tonight or something?"
