Jack tilted his head and waited for Mark's response. Surprisingly, Mark thought for a minute.

Flashback~
I'd always defend my brother Thomas's like a knight! He'd refuse my protection when it got out of hand but he'd always delt with my childish ways.
I'd always read fairy tales. Some of them had knight's and I did what they did.

I remember the day that changed the way I viewed life. We were at the market buying groceries and I accidentally separated from Thomas. I searched as much as I could yet I couldn't find the one I needed to protect.

My eye's lit up when I found him sitting up against a wall in a alleyway. I scurried over to his side. I lifted his head and he was covered in muck and dirt. Shocked, I panicked.

"Mark leave right now." His hand was over his stomach. Something red was peeking between his hand where it was covering.

I pulled his hand away to see his shirt splattered with crimson blood.

A shadow loomed over blocking the sun. Mark looked behind and a figure with a frontiersmen knife, grabbed Mark by the hair.

I stared at the stranger terrified. I darted my eye's back at my brother dieing and the stranger.

I was suppose to protect my brother.

And that's what I did.

Instead of going down, I bit the man's hand shaking my head like a dog. It bleed. Heavily. He threw me head first at the wall.

I hissed at the pain. I picked myself up and clawed at him. There was no way I could outstand him unless I have his weapon.

I dodged a few attacks. Outsmarting him, I took the chance to snatch his dagger and stabbed it deep in his side. I pulled it out and stabbed back again rapidly.

Finally when he lowered I slammed it in his forehead and left it there and watched him fall lifeless to the ground.

Thomas, behind me was baffled. Once again at his side I comforted him.

"Thomas can you walk?!"

"Mark...." Thomas was a bit uneasy.

"He was trying to kill us! I had to...."

So in the end, we were found minutes later by a woman and her children. She was petrified. Well we were a wreck and covered in blood. She was kind to help us, I kept a distance from the other children and kept my arm over Thomas watching closely for any dangers.

I gave her directions to our house. Mum was terrified and upset when she saw how awful me and Thomas looked. She panicked and quickly cleansed us while covered in tears. She kept repeating "Oh my god."

Later, I sat on my bed watching Thomas rest on the other side rest. His stomach was wrapped neatly with a gauze. Some blood peeked through. I however, only had had cuts and bruises. Bored, I gazed out in the night sky.

The man changed something in me that day.

If the only way to protect my love one's
Then I'll take their lives so they can't hurt me, Thomas, or mum.

As the year's past I 'accidentally' killed a innocent bystander. He had much loot to provide for my family. I felt bad but I had to overcome that fear. I walked away only sheding a single tear.

I was happy to bring it back. Of course I was too scared to tell the story but they were pleased with my findings.

So I kept the cycle going.

Kill.

Steal.

Kill.

Steal.

I went insane.

And I loved it.
