Chapter one

1 1 1

I wake up slowly blinking my eyes open taking in my all to familiar surroundings. I slowly lifted up my heavy down blanket and shivered at the cold winter air that reached my heated skin. A P noticed my waking up and pressed the button to alert the M's to come and dress me. I've always hated having people doing everything for me. I can dress myself, but my father always insists that I'm royalty and should focus on more important things.
My normal M came, undressed me from my silk night gown and dressed me into my morning blue dress for breakfast. I walked across my large luxurious room that has stayed the same ever since I was little. My M escorted me downstairs to the dining room table that could fit more than twenty people. My father was already sitting down and eating. I sat down at my normal chair while a P served me my normal drink of sweet, pulpy orange juice. My M went over my schedule for the day and I groaned when she told me I was meeting with Alan's parents again to discuss future plans.
I had known Alan for as long as I remember, so he is basically like a brother to me. I had recently found out that I'm supposed to marry Alan to keep the royal lineage worthy. I found it completely outrageous that I had to marry my best friend and have children with him! I was broken out of my angry thoughts when I heard a crash and realised I dropped my glass of juice.
A P quickly came and started cleaning it up for me. The P cut herself on a large piece of glass but continued cleaning. I quickly grabbed my silk white napkin and grabbed her hand trying to clean off the blood. I asked her if she's ok, but she just looked at me scared, then pulled her hand away and kept cleaning.
"I don't understand? I just want to help! Why won't you let me?" I yelled.
I quickly lower my voice when I realise how loud I was and apologize. My father glares at me and I know I'm going to get the same lecture I always get.
"Ember! Don't forget how to act like a proper lady. You are turning eighteen soon and need to know how to act properly when you are the wife of a ruler." My father tells me in a stern voice leaving me no room to argue.
I sigh and continue eating my eggs quietly like a "proper" lady. After I finish eating I politely excuse myself to get ready for the day. Like always my M follows me.

Note for chapter:
So this is my first original story. I've always loved writing stories and decided to share this one. I hope you like it. Also sorry if there are any spelling or punctuation mistakes I'm really bad at punctuation.
