Ivan Braginski had a normal life in America. He had moved from his homeland Russia to the states for education, he had a nicely paying job at a nearby store, and he lived alone in a cozy apartment with kind neighbors.

Yes, he had a nice life.

"Nikolai!"

As soon as the Russians voice called out, a large furry brown cat patted into the room, meowing as he rubbed up against his owners leg.

Ivan smiled as he set his bag on the ground and knelt down, running his hands through Nikolai' fur, "I hope you weren't that lonely" he chuckled as he stood back up, Nikolai meowed loudly in a whine as he trotted to the kitchen, Ivan smiling as he followed, "da, Da I will get you your food."

Ivan liked his life, it was simple. He got letters from his sisters, and called them from time to time. Sending then money when they needed it. Yes, he indeed enjoyed it.

Well, until his bell buzzed.

Ivan looked up when he heard the buzzing, standing up and wiping off his hands he walked over to the intercom and pressed the answer button, "da?"

"Um, hi I have a package for Ivan Braginski?"

"Oh, Da that is me, I'll be down in moment."

He slipped on his house slippers and grabbed his keys, taking the elvator down to the lobby he met the mailman at the door and opened it for him.

"Good afternoon sir, if I could just get you to sign here."

Ivan signed the sheet and thanked the man as he was handed the small package, bidding him a good day he made his way back up to his apartment, looking down at the box in confusion, "I don't remember ordering anything...and I don't think Natalia or Katrina (that's the name I use for Ukraine ^-^") is supposed to send anything."

He unlocked his door and walked in, locking it behind him before he walked to the livingroom and sat the box on the coffee table next to his scarf, one his older sister gave him when he was younger, sitting on the couch. Nikolai hopped up beside the Russian and sat down with him.

"What do you think it is?"

"Mew"

"Don't know either, huh?" Ivan chuckled before he stood up and grabbed a pear of scissors. He checked the box for any return address or name but didn't see one except his, he cautiously slit through the tape and opened the flap of the box.

His violet eyes blinked a twice when they caught sight of the bouquet of sunflowers, tilting his head in confusion as he picked then up gently, "strange.." he mumbled, but felt his face heat up slightly as he gently set the flowers on the table. He looked back into the box and found a heart shaped box of chocolate with a note next to it.

Ivan unfolded the paper, reading the neat handwriting.

'Your smile rivals the bright beauty of these sunflowers.'

It was simple and cheesy, but it brought a light blush to the Russians cheeks as he checked for a name, finding none.

"I wonder who sent it..." he mumbled to himself, he got a weird feeling but didn't know what to think of it. He decided to shrug it off and put the sunflowers in a vase and the chocolates on the table, thinking he'd eat them for dessert.
