Sphinx! Sphinx! Glimmering shine
Who could create a better design?
The artists and priests consorted to create
The Sphinx with golden slate.
Why does the woman have a lion's body?
It tends to make her look a bit gaudy
Or is it the Lion, with a woman's head?
Some might say, it is better unsaid.
The pharaoh's protector drowned in light
Stands up tall, just like a knight.
How did the creature get there?
Why does she look so fair?
Covered in gold, she looks so bold.
She was such a sight for one to behold.
Now she has been stripped of her former glory,
But that would be another story.
