Your Best Friend

Story Part

Y/N gasped when she saw the letter left with Jimmy to be handed to her. Telling her it was her time to go, that it was her time to die. She tore it up and refused to answer when Jimmy asked what it was.

"Nothing. Just a joke," Y/N said smiling as though it were nothing.

"Nothing? If it's nothing then why did Jenny give it to me? She said it was important," Jimmy said, perplexed. She smiled.

"Don't worry about it. I have to go, now. But I'll see you tomorrow, right?" Y/N asked. Jimmy nodded but it was clear he wasn't paying attention. She sighed and left the clinic. Sadly that meant she had to pass the Red hallway. She felt chills running down her spine as she passed it. Then she saw a small girl sitting on top of a table and laughing as she passed her. Y/N sped up and soon ended up running as fast as possible to the exit. Just before she cleared the hallway the door slammed shut.

Hello. So so glad that you came. I honestly didn't think you would but after all Jimmy always fulfills his promises. Someone said. The voice seemed to be everywhere, behind, up, down coming from the very walls that trapped her. A child's laughter echoed around her. Y/N screamed and tried to ram the door but it wouldn't budge.

Oh, you don't really think this is your imagination do you? The girl flashed in front of her, so close she could smell the scent of decay on her. This girl was familiar, the letter was right she had seen her (and promptly panicked) before. Y/N screamed and tried to run back to the main clinic, back to people who could get her a room because she was going insane.

Poor, little girl... can't even tell what's real. Ha! You'll know what's real... soon... very... soon. The girl appeared in front of Y/N again and put her hand on her shoulder. The scent of rotting flesh was all around her, choking her and making her sick.

"What do you want?" Y/N shrieked.

I want Jimmy. I want him to love me again. I want him to say "Jenny, you're the only one." But you... you took that from me! She shouted. Darkness seemed to be seeping out of her and filling the room like smoke. Best say goodbye, Y/N. You won't be getting out of this hallway! Ever! Cackling echoed through the hall and the darkness had blocked every bit of light. Y/N was just about to scream when Jenny began to smile and sing a song. Mine mine mine. All mine. Guess you're out of time time time. No. More. Time. Then the life force that kept Y/N human began to ebb away. Slowly she began to fade into a transparent figure. Jenny laughed. She was human again, real flesh and blood.

What? But how? Y/N asked, her voice now an echo like Jenny's had been. The little girl laughed.

"All mine! I will get Jimmy now! I'm human now! And you... get to stay here forever!" She laughed, walking towards the door. Y/N chased after her but couldn't leave the hall.

She was a ghost, trapped in the hall forever.

Until another human could take her place.
