A mistake among us

Two years before his secret is revealed

The temperature dropped at an intense rate, seeing ice on the horizon he could tell that they were entering Icewing territory. "Bladedancer, why are we in icewing territory."
"We have to cross through here in order to reach out destination. But we should look for a place to rest until nightfall." After landing and walking for twenty five minutes, the exhausted Nightwings found a cave hidden under a mound of snow. " well i suppose this will do."
Bladedancer said trying not to yawn.
"Hey Nightadapter, what did you do when we saw that dead icewing." "I was checking if he died recently or had been there for a while." "Oh, alright then. Well good night."

Nightadapter was awoken by a blunt object poking him. When he opened his eyes he scrambled to his feet and walked slowly backwards toward his older brother.
He repeatedly whispered his brother's name hoping he would wake up, then he slipped on a patch of ice and accidentally stepped on Bladedancer's tail. He jolted up with a yelp from the sudden pain and froze seeing the icewing scouts that stand, blocking the exit of the cave.

"Blade, what do we do." The panicking nightwing said hyperventilating. "We can't fight them they're much larger than us.
"Then i'll distract them while you make a run for it, we'll meet at the border."
Without Waring Bladedancer leaped forward, reaching for the throat of the larger icewing. He succeeded in killing the first but the second scout slammed his tail into the ribcage of the older brother knocking the air out of his lungs, stunned he stumbled to the side and gasped trying to reclaim the lost oxygen.
With uncanny accuracy the opposing dragon sank his talons deep into the shoulder of Blade. "No remorse." Whispered Nightadapter. As he took off into the night sky hoping his brother survives.
