4/10 - Disguise

"I could sit with you all day. I missed you so much."

"I know, because you like me, right?"

The older stops eating for a while as he lifts his eyes towards Baekhyun. There's something melancholic about the way he stares, making Baekhyun suddenly tense, but he quickly hides it with a forced laugh.

Baekhyun feels like a total asshole.

"H-hyung, I was just kidding," he says, averting his eyes while he rubs his nape. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that way."

"Don't apologize. It's true anyway."

"What is?"

"That I like you," Yixing says. "We already know that fact since forever. It's just you who hates me."

"Yixing-hyung, no," Baekhyun says like he's about to cry. He gets a tissue paper and throws it at him. "It's not that I hate you. I don't hate you."

"So you like me, then?"

"I--" Baekhyun bites his lower lip. "Of course."

Yixing laughs. "Baekhyun, let me ask you. Why do you think I would come over here all the way from China just to eat dinner with you?"

"Because you're just bored and you wanna hang out with the guys but they are busy so you just picked me since I don't have something much to do--"

"Eng. That's not what I remembered what happened when you called me in the middle of the night saying you wanted someone to talk to."

Baekhyun doesn't say anything anymore.

"Finish your noodles already."

"But it's supposed to be cold," he mumbles. "It's cold noodles "

"Should I laugh now?"

Baekhyun rolls his eyes, stuffing his chopsticks full of veggies inside his mouth.

"So, how have you been lately," Yixing asks as he tugs down his face mask to slurp the soup of his noodles. "Are you all right? Are you sleeping and eating well?"

Baekhyun nods quickly. "Yes, they're taking care of me, especially Junmyeon-hyung, Jongin and Kyungsoo, and of course, Sehun, too." He picks a tiny cabbage wrap and eats it. "I'm really thankful to them, Yixing-hyung. I love the members like my own brothers."

"But you know, they don't see you the way you see them."

"Huh?" Baekhyun asks. "What do you mean?"

"Quit playing naive."

Yixing looks at him in the eyes. "Jongin, Sehun and I will never see you as a brother, Baekhyun. I hope you could understand that."

Baekhyun keeps his mouth shut, always, when he doesn't know how to respond to things he knows are too complicated. It's really hard having these happen to him because he didn't ask to be in this kind of situation in the first place. Actually, all he wants is for all of them to become great friends and brothers, and he is not asking for more.

But things happen, and he has to deal with them even if that would mean he has to hurt his own and the others' feelings. He doesn't want that, though, so he just stays silent to keep himself from committing mistakes.

"Hyung, I'm sorry--"

"I said don't apologize," Yixing mutters. "It's not your fault that I've fallen for you too, just like them." He chuckles dryly. "You know what, you should just better thank me instead. I'll appreciate it a lot "
