"Mom where's the phone book? I want to call Becci."
"I think it's in the coffee table drawer, if I'm not mistaken."
Cheyenne went to look and sure enough there it was. She flipped to the B section to find Braxton. She scrolled down to Rebekah Braxton and dialed the number.
"Hello?"
Cheyenne told the lady on the other end who she was and asked if Becci lived there.
"Yes she does, hold on. I'll get her for you."
When Becci came on the phone she was surprised it was Cheyenne.
"How'd you get my number?"
"I knew your last name was Braxton so I looked in the phone book and called. I just got lucky and got you on the first try. I was wanting to know if you wanted to go to the mall or do something today?"
"Sure, why don't we meet at the corner by the school. It's only three blocks from there so we can have lunch." She suggested
"Alright I'll see you in about an hour."
"Okay see you then bye."
Marcia asked Mike for some money to take Cheyenne to the mall so he handed her $50 and told her to have fun. Cheyenne got in the car with her mother who took her to the school and dropped her off at the corner where Becci was waiting on her.
"Hey girl, hey Mrs. Compton."
Becci waved at Marcia saying hello before she headed back home.
"What's up? Are you ready for lunch?"
"I sure am. I never eat breakfast and I'm ready for anything."
"Well what do you like? Mexican, Chinese, Italian...?"
Cheyenne started down a list of restaurants in the area.
"How about we get Mexican. I love fajitas, tacos and burritos. Actually I love all of it."
Becci laughed as she makes fun of herself and her love for food.
"Okay Mexican it is."
The mall was pretty packed when Becci and Cheyenne got there but they went straight to the restaurant and for their lunch. They found seats then they saw Brad and asked him to join them.
"Let me get my food first."
He came back with 3 tacos and 2 burritos.
"You're not hungry much are you?" Becci teased
"No not really. I usually eat more than this."
They all laugh and share each other's food. After lunch they walk around the mall. Becci showed Cheyenne where they hold the art show and where they set the judges.
"They choose 3 people. 2 runner ups and the winner. Usually the judges are local ones. Last year it was the Mayor, the Bank President and a Judicial Judge." They explain.
"I think it's great they keep the judges local." Cheyenne said
"Me to." Becci agreed
Then Brad saw a picture machine and wanted to have their picture done. Cheyenne was reluctant at first but finally gave in. It took 4 pictures so they made 3 goofy and 1 serious. After that Becci said she had to get home.
"I have to help my mom get ready for company tomorrow after church. She wants me to help prepare for them today so we don't have so much to do tomorrow. I'll see you guys Monday, bye."
