Chapter 2:
Patricia's P.O.V
I got my favorite white dress with red polka dots on it. My 2 inch heels and my beige cross body designer purse. It didn't match but that's all I've got for now.
I put on eyeliner and a little blush not too much though.
"7:50! Ok I gotta get going." I put on 2 coats of clear lip gloss and headed for the door. "Whoa, where are you going kiddo?" My Papi always called me that, since I was 3. And I call 'buster buddy' it's kind of our thing. My mom died when I was 6, so it's been my Papi and I since then. "Oh, I'm just going on a date with Jake.... If that's alright with you." I slapped myself internally for ACTUALLY asking his permission to go on a date. I'm practically 18, I should be able to make my own decisions!
"Course you can honey, don't be out too late!"
"OKAY!" I shouted back.
I walked out to the front porch when I remembered Jake was picking me up.
I was about to call him when I saw 2 headlights on and heard a car horn.
There was Jake.
I walked over smiling from ear to ear. He walked out of the car and opened the door for me "what a gentleman" I thought to myself. I stepped in and sat down. So did he on the other side.
"Let's get this show on the road!"
*20 minutes later*
"We're here!"
I woke up to the sound of Jake's voice. He opened the car door for me and we both walked in together.
We took our seats and looked over the menu. We read through the menu for a quite a while until we heard someone clear their throat.
"Hi, my name's Mellisa (she showed us her name tag) and I will be your waitress for this evening. What would you like?"
She like she was around 17 or 18. We told her our order.
"Anything else?" This time she was only looking at Jake.
He smiled at her and said, "no thanks, we're good"
She smiled back and said, "Here's your check."
I was like 'what? We're not even leaving.'
That's when I noticed the so called "check" was folded (ever so neatly). And with that, she winked and walked away with a flip of her hair.
My blood BOILED! "Um I'll be right back, I just gotta go to the bathroom," I said trying to hide the anger in my voice. He was still looking at the girl, not even paying attention to me.
"HELLO!?!?" I bellowed
"Oh yeah, yeah hurry back." Was all he said. I rushed to the bathroom before he could see me throw a tantrum right then and there.
