Still in the medical room, I found myself mentally cursing at my earlier actions. Why did I say that? My hands lightly smacked the sides of my head in frustration as I replayed the moment over and over.
What was I thinking?
My self-scolding came to a halt when the sound of the door clicking open caught my attention. I turned toward it just as the door swung inward, revealing Jimin. He walked in without hesitation, his usual unreadable expression in place.
"Minjae, Mr. Hyunwoo wants to see us. Let's go," he said matter-of-factly.
I nodded quickly, bracing myself to stand. I gripped the edge of the bed with one hand and used the other to push myself up, trying my best not to show how much it hurt.
"Can you walk like this?" Jimin asked, his voice soft but still tinged with skepticism.
I forced a smile, nodding in reassurance. "Yeah, I'll be fine."
But as soon as I took my first step, pain shot through my ankle, making me stumble. I reached out to grab the bed for balance, but before I could fall, a strong arm wrapped around my waist, steadying me.
My breath hitched as I looked up, finding myself pulled close to him. His face was right there, just inches from mine, his eyes searching mine for any sign of pain.
His grip was firm yet gentle, and for a moment, I forgot how to move, let alone speak. My cheeks flushed as the heat of embarrassment crept up my face.
Why did this keep happening?
Without a word, Jimin adjusted his hold on me. My left arm was draped over his shoulder, and his right hand rested securely on my waist, pulling me even closer.
"I told you to take it easy," he muttered, his tone scolding but his actions careful.
I swallowed hard, looking away to avoid his piercing gaze. "I can walk on my own," I mumbled weakly.
"You clearly can't," he shot back, his voice firm but not unkind.
And that was that. Without giving me another chance to protest, he started walking, supporting me the entire way.
When we reached the disciplinary office, Jimin knocked on the door, and I flinched at the sound of Mr. Hyunwoo's angry voice yelling at someone inside.
"Come in!" the voice barked.
Jimin opened the door without hesitation, but I hesitated, my heart sinking as soon as I saw who was already inside.
Jangsuk.
The big bully was seated across from Mr. Hyunwoo, his arms crossed and his glare cutting straight through us like daggers. My stomach twisted uncomfortably.
"Jangsuk!" Mr. Hyunwoo's voice thundered, making me jump slightly. "This is the third time you've been sent here! Vandalism, bullying, and now fighting?! What do you think this is, your family's playground?"
I shrank under the intense atmosphere, my hands gripping the edge of my shirt.
"And I hear you were at a club last night," Mr. Hyunwoo continued, his chest heaving with anger. "I've had enough! This school has no place for students like you."
Wait—was he really going to...
"You're expelled," Mr. Hyunwoo declared, his tone final.
Jangsuk's jaw dropped. "Expelled?" he exclaimed, his voice dripping with disbelief.
"Yes. Go see the principal now," Mr. Hyunwoo ordered, gesturing toward the door.
Jangsuk cursed under his breath but stood up, throwing one last menacing glare in our direction before storming out.
