The girl looked up at the starry night sky, the cold wind blowing her long, wavy, golden hair to one shoulder. She took a deep breath of air, trying to calm herself. Earlier that day she was yelled at by a young boy in her ninja class, she was simply trying to cheer him up, and when he screamed at her about how bad his day was she completely understood. But, she didn't understand why he let it out all on her. And on top of that, she use to have a crush on the boy. And with her horrible experience with guys in the past, was slowly beginning to avoid anymore relationships. After all, she's only fell in love once when she was just a small girl. She knew what love was, she loved how it felt, the feeling of that person always by your side, knowing if you fall they'd be there to catch you. But, that was so long ago. She began to question if it was even real. Another reason she began to avoid boys is the fact that she still loved the boy from when she was young, but, could never get the courage to contact him. She still had hopes that one day he'd come to her instead, and be there. Her heart dropped at the thought, as she stared at her phone in hopes he'd call her at the very moment.

"Hanako?" Her younger brother looked at her worriedly and sat by her. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing.."

"Sure. I can tell somethings wrong just by looking at you, you know."

"Really...nothing. I just can't sleep."

"Than something is wrong."

Hanako gave her brother a defeated look, stumbling over words trying to find a objection.

"Ha. I knew it." He nudged her with his shoulder teasingly.

"Shut up." She muttered back looking away.

The atmosphere slowly changed as her brother began to take it more seriously.

"Okay, really, what's wrong?" He got up from the bench and walked around her to try and lock his gaze with hanako's, whom kept hers locked to the ground. There was no way she was going to tell her younger brother of all people. Although, he was the only person she really trusted.

"I...was yelled at today.."

"By sensei?"

"No.."

"By a friend?"

"Sorta.."

"Your crush?" He giggled a little as he asked the question.

Hanako playfully pushed him away. "No."

"Than who?"

"My Ex crush.."

"Ah.." Considering he was youngest in her family, he probably had less experience about these things.

"Why he yell at you?"

"He supposedly was having a bad day.."

"Worse than you..?"

Hanako hesitated when he asked that question. "How would I know..." She finally answered.

He shrugged. "You got to decide whether to apologize to him, avoid him, are act like it never happened. Only you can make that decision." He stared off into the distance like he was making sure his words came out right, then digged through his sweater pockets and pulled out a apple. "Here. I got it for you on the way home today. Apples are really ripe this year!"

Hanako slowly took the deep red apple and stared down at it in her palms as her brother shuffled through his pocket again and pulled out another one.

"Good, right?" He asked as hanako took a bite him taking one after.

Hanako slowly nodded in response sitting up straight. "You know that lecture you gave me, you sounded like mom." She teased trying to change the subject for good.

Her brothers face went red with anger and he tossed the apple at hanako who catched it easily.

"I did not." He said afterward turning his head away.

"Don't waste the apples now." Hanako laughed looking back up at the starry sky. The stars shimmered and twinkled so beautifully tonight, on top of it there was so many. She felt a weight on her shoulder after a moment, when she turned her head her little brothers sleeping face met hers. She smiled looking down at him. "I'll never let anything happen to you...Kade.." She muttered, although didn't know why, a bad feeling creeped up her back, she said it at the feeling of the moment, and out of the love for her little brother..
